I purchased mine two weeks ago from UpscaleAudio. Holy poop does this sound amazing! Tie a Lumin Music player and/or Roon to this puppy and you are cooking with gas. Worth every penny.f

hi, can i ask, i thinking to get dac, i had before Mytek Liberty dac, and i use Tidal in Roon, now want to upgrade and get Primaluna dac or Holo audio spring 2 kte dac. just would like to see your advice. thank you.

Question I'm seeking some answers for: I listen to a lot of MQA and FLAC on my Peachtree Nova 300 with Bluesound Node 2. It sounds great, but I'm looking to upgrade my DAC, and maybe a Primaluna Evo 300 integrated in the near future. My question is intended for the people who have a lot of experience with high-end DAC's... Since this Primaluna DAC is not MQA certified (like the on inside my Peachtree Nova 300), will I still notice an improvement over my current DAC if I were to upgrade to the Primaluna DAC?

You mention the dual mono preamp...does that mean you can use this DAC as a preamp directly into an amp? Is there a volume control?

What is the difference between a dac and a preampifer the evo 100 preamp and the evo 100 dac?

The preamp is merely a source selector and volume control for the source(s) and of course, then feeds the signal to the amplifier. When I say merely this is used tongue and cheek as I've recently gone tube with the PrimaLuna HP integrated .....to say that I'm over the freak'g moon is an understatement. A DAC is a device which converts the digital signal into an analogue signal hence the acronym DAC. Many will say it's digital and its sound can't be changed.......well with a good resolving system this statement is blown wide open as a farce. DAC do sound different and it's quite the journey finding one that meets your needs.

From Stereonet review: "PrimaLuna's so-called 'Super Tube Clock' is built around a RUSSIAN MILITARY mini-triode specifically designed as an oscillator. The company says this will last between five and ten years, but as always with tubes, it's difficult to say exactly. It's hard-wired in, so replacement would have to be by qualified personnel. With current Russian sanctions, one hopes stocks of this tube will remain obtainable." Ouch! This is a mistake in my opinion, hopefully they source parts from another country next time around!
