I never laugh at you. Or, any new driver, anyone who messes up. I prefer to say I laugh with you. Everyone has to learn. And everyone makes mistakes. Everyone has good and bad days. I'm 62 and have driven for 38 years. Be well and safe travels and God bless you all!

Hey rex, Something that I learned after driving for a couple years is when you're weighing your truck on the cat scale never pull your brakes, just put it in neutral and keep your foot on the brakes, the air bags on trailer and truck deflate quickly and shift your weight totals around between axles, this will make your weights alot more accurate. When doing heavy haul we even use a temp brake switch that depresses our brake pedal for this reason

My bags stay up for days after air is released. Your check valves must not be functioning. Furthermore of you set the truck brakes or pull the treadle valve, no need to hold the service brakes.

The weight of an empty trailer is called the TARE weight. The weight of a loaded trailer is called the GROSS weight. !

If you're specifically looking to get into non hazmat tanker, can you just apply to do that or do you get whatever Prime wants you to do like dry van, refer, or flat bed?

Prime will put you on the division that’ll get you the best home time. So if your specifically wanting tanker I would reach out to a recruiter and ask. Tanker “inedible or food grade” doesn’t run all 48 states. My family and I moved to Springfield MO and it’s a great area for inedible. My home time is really good! I hope this helps! 🤙✌️

since your tractor is not staying with the trailer your dropping......and all tractors don t weight the same......don t you need a tare weight of the trailer aONLY.....don t you need to weigh the unit and then drop the trailer and weigh your trac,tor toa get a true m/t weight of the trailer

technically yes, but since only Prime is hauling Prime trailers, the different tractors will weigh roughly the same, the only things that will affect it are fuel level and personal items.
