Put the Furik setup on the Prime weld and see if there is a difference, torches are not set up the same, so there is going to be a difference IMO. Huge difference in gas flow shielding the weld .

I really like my 225 X too, just wish the scale around knobs be more user friendly !! Don't matter to much for regular DC welding , but for AC and pulse setting is kind the guess game. Hopefully Primeweld will come up with digital version later on.....

AC frequency, I generally use around 100 to 120. This Primeweld machine references AC balance on positive side. Probably start out around 30 to 40 percent on the positive side.

@ 7.51 video looks like the AC balance is over 50 % . Was not your tungsten balling fast on that setting ? I normally use AC balance around 30% cleaning .

I just recently purchased the PrimeWeld 225x and let me tell you I love it for the price you can’t beat it, but I agree with you when you ran it at 120 it did run cold, i tested mine out I set it to 125 and ran the foot petal all the way down and it only read out 123, another thing with mine I have it hooked up to 220v and when I cranked it all the way up it only reached 223 not the full 225 idk weird

I've seen quite a few reviews and testing of chinese welders and the reviews consistently said their amperage reading was a lot higher than their actual output. Kind of like buying a chinese car audio amplifier. They are always rated un realistically higher than what they are even capable of outputting. The prime weld looks like a feature packed welder though. I myself have an old lincoln tig/stick welder that weighs more than a pair of harley motorcycles, but it gets the job done and so far has been reliable and consistant. I got lucky and picked it up from where my father used to work for $150 with a water cooled torch and a miller water cooler that by itself was a $1500 unit.

I dumped a Everlast and bought the Primeweld and think the Primeweld is a better welder. All of our mileage varies, but a very un-scientific method is deciding if 120 amps was hotter on either welder, I guess you just hold your finger in the air and test for temperature... 🤣 Let us know what you think about the Primeweld yourself, after you get more hood time with it.
