Josh, if you have the time and are extremely lucky, while you are waiting to trap one of those ribeyes you may be able to find a beer spring. The tap is usually sticking out from between a couple of rocks near the rib-eye game trail, as they are almost always found in the same environment. Great video, love the outtakes!

Got to say your foraging skills are first rate. You could teach the scouts a thing or two about wild edibles. If this video is any indication of your survival skills then I’m sure I didn’t waste my money buying your survival book. Book should be here tomorrow. Can’t wait to learn how be eating the high part of the hog!

I use garlic cheese toast and a loaded bake potato to bait the trap for T-bones ! In all seriousness , i dont trap or hunt on my own farm . Its amazing how much small game is now living on just the 80 acres around the homestead. Hare , Hungarian partridge , pheasant, ducks, geese , etc are plentiful . The only thing i do shoot are the gophers .

How often, on the same game trail, would you consider setting multiple traps? Also, the ribeyes run wild here in East TN, but being able to identify the plants necessary to season them, is a much harder task. Ha. Thanks for the info.

Great video. Ramps are a good substitute for garlic. Ramps and fried taters with bluegill filets cooked in butter is my springtime favorite.

I live in the Pacific NW. Last time I tried trapping rib eye all I got was a feral Tofu. Needless to say....I went hungry that night.

I like how he started with an L7 trap I have used it before and that’s a very effective trap especially if you can set it up we’re the animal gets flung really hard into a tree.

🤣🤣🤣 Gotta love those racoon ribeyes. It was so nice of the piggies to offer up some their excess fat to help with the steak. Very considerate. Loved the book. But you didn't cover the pepper tree in it. Loved the humor. The GI method of making a lesson stick with you. 👍👍

Sadly the wild ribeye has been hunted to the point of extension here on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Gov is looking into relocating some and reintroducing them.

Haha nice one, I have been eyeballing my 25 acres for about 9 months have all my GT identified, have yet to see a ribeye or black pepper plant, mushrooms but im seriously nervous about some of them. My dogs have been eating Coon/Possum and an occasional Rabbit. I dont know where the squirrels boogied too.

That fat catching procedure only works on older female boars. Also there are little yellow butter flowers growing next to swampy areas which will provide a good source of fat. Just saying.

I use a smaller snare set…. And all I keep getting is breaded chicken nuggets do you have any advice on sizes I would love to be able to snare a ribeye over the nuggets😂😂😂
