That sounds clever and apt and is commonly used. In this context however, it is most mysogynist. She's not a son. She is a daughter. Daughters can have good relations with their father despite their sex. I will say this: I think, Anne was the heir apparent he wanted but did not have. The way they portray her makes it look like her temprament was more suited for the job as monarch than Charles, who is super sensitive.

Actually, this is a real thing, most courtiers comment that he loved his daughter the most because they have the same personality, same temperament and same work ethic. He always saw Charles as soft, Andrew as spoilt (although Andrew was the favourite son) and Edward as someone not to be taken too seriously because he was the youngest.

From what I've read, that's also how Anne acted during the kidnapping attempt. She angrily went on and on about how disrespectful, rude and pushy he was being (among other things). Many women would have shivered in fear, not her apparently.

According to one, he and his mother were in close communication and some letters have been discussed in that biography. And when his mom’s health was starting to deteriorate, he asked his mom to go to BP but his mom usually declined Philip’s invitation until she received the last letter which stated that the invitation was from “lilibet herself” that’s when she agreed to go to the palace. I guess she didn’t wanna be the mom in law around the house not invited by the owner??? Another biographer talked about him maintaining contact with his nephews and nieces in Germany and how he had an appointed person specifically for that job (taking care of his assorted relations issues). Yes, i agree!! People usually take these shows at face value and its not good. The dramatisation is too much that it affects their image considering some people in there are/were alive.!!
