I remember when she came to Australia and her car drove past my primary school. It went on further and went by my brother’s high school. They surrounded her car which had to stop. She was a very gracious lady.

Kenya is an independent country and has been for decades. The Commonwealth they are celebrating is group of nations who voluntarily choose to trade between each other and support each other through education, culture and they support each other in times of crisis. eg Australia and other countries of the Commonwealth , flew in aid to Fiji, another Commonwealth nation, after the recent earthquake.

Yes you can as an associate member. Indeed the previous president Trump was in the process of applying for associate membership of the Commonwealth. There’s also a little known state in America called British west Florida which is technically still crown land from the 16th century, and has continuously applied for Commonwealth status.
