3 жыл бұрынPrincess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon (August 21, 1930 - February 9, 2002) was the younger daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and the only sibling of Queen Elizabeth II. Her life changed dramatically at the age of six, when her paternal uncle, King Edward VIII, abdicated to marry divorcée Wallis Simpson. Margaret's father became king, and her sister became heir presumptive, with Margaret second in line to the throne. After the world war II, Margaret fell in love with Group Captain Peter Townsend. Townsend divorced his wife and proposed to Margaret early the following year. Many in the government believed that he would be an unsuitable husband for the Queen's 22-year-old sister, and the Church of England refused to countenance marriage to a divorced man. Margaret eventually abandoned her plans with Townsend and married photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones in 1960.The couple had a son, David, and a daughter, Sarah, before divorcing in 1978. Margaret was a controversial member of the British royal family. Her divorce received much negative publicity, and her private life was for many years the subject of intense speculation by media and royal-watchers. Her health gradually deteriorated in the final two decades of her life. She was a heavy smoker for most of her adult life and had a lung operation in 1985 and at least three strokes between 1998 and 2001. She died after suffering a final stroke on February 9, 2002.

She was gorgeous. Especially in her late teens and in the first half of her 20s. And even after that, if she hadn't suffered from horrible illnesses due to her addiction to smoking and drinking, she would have been a very pretty lady in her later years. She was so loyal to her sister, the late Queen Elizabeth II, and loved her so much. They were best friends. Now they can reunite and rest with each other after 20 years, 6 months, and 30 days apart. She was so beautiful! It is true!! All in all with her attitude as a drinker and smoker, she supported herself discreetly !! But then she was struck all of a sudden by terrible diseases three strokes from which The last one is taken away forever!! But she always remains my idol, beautiful and enterprising in a world that wasn't suitable for her.. because if she lived today! Maybe she was happier..

Princess Margaret's beauty was ethereal but she aged horribly due to heavy smoking and drinking. She was reported to smoke 60 cigarettes a day. Had she not done this, she probably would've aged more beautifully and probably would still be with us.

A lovely girl and woman, but a lot of unhappiness in her life made her bitter, turning to alcohol and cigs. Her son looks so much like dad. Both of her children have done very well and have a good relationship with the Queen.

She had Everything : a loving family, a great beauty, a royal name with a royal lifestyle (without worries about food, housing or anything like the common people). Everything !! She could leave the royal family and the royal lifestyle to marry Peter, but...she was too weak to accept living in poor conditions and having a job ??!Many of us witness unhapiness in love, divorces but...we keep UP ! This is the real force of a human being. It's such a shame becoming smoke and alcohool Addict with all the help that medecins could provide...I read somewhere she was so jealous because she wanted to became Queen.My God 😔. She was very glamorous. No point in comparing her with the queen, although the physical resemblance is evident, they were very different in character. But as sisters, they were really close. Sadly, Margaret was never happy with her life, she didn't find the inner peace. I guess if they had let her marry Peter Townsend... But she wasn't willing to give up royalty just to be with him. Kind of sad.. but I think she was right. Her uncle, the king, renounced the crown for love and he was not happy! He condemned himself to an obscure life outside his country, forever sighing for what could have been... Plus, I heard Wallis Simpson was terrible to him! And just look at Harry now.. Sad figures...At least Margaret was an unhappy princess, but she always had her family right beside her.

I don't believe that Queen Elizabeth felt "outshone" by Margaret. She was not a jealous woman, was very secure and confident, and loved her sister very much. Elizabeth was happy in her life, with her life, and she herself was extremely beautiful. She didn't compete or play petty games, she didn't have to with her personality and internal make up.

Inbreeding happened. I believe Elizabeth and Philip were closely enough related for them to be aware of their exact familial relationship before the marriage. Of course everyone on earth is related, but you generally don’t want to mate with someone of whom you know your exact relationship with because that’s a big flag of being closely related and with the Royal Families already being closely related due to past inbreeding, this did not help make the kids pretty.

Princess Margaret was a beautiful Woman, she was beautiful throughout her life everyone is beautiful in the Image of God. But eventually, She suffered towards the end of her life but God brought her into his arms so she would not have to suffer from her health. Everyone eventually gets older and passes into our lord's open arms. God also helped the Queen deal with the grief for her beloved sister, helper and friend, they loved each other dearly; I can not imagine being the Queen loosing my sister and being Crowned very young. The Queen had no choice she had to do what was right. Queen Elizabeth II was Also very beautiful she changed the Commonwealth and is the most important figure of a Queen in the British Monarchy. Beauty does not have to be how people look it can be what they did as well. None of them will ever be forgotten they changed the world in one way or another they were very important figures: Before we were around they did amazing things throughout their lives and then continued when some of us were alive and now they are Greatly missed. Their legacy continues with their Children and Grandchildren. Some people are great leaders and others are not.
