One of the best Nintendo Switch exclusive games of 2024 is shaping up to be Princess Peach Showtime! The game released on March 22, and is the first time the iconic heroine has landed a lead role for two decades. Specifically, Princess Peach Showtime is hoping to be considered one of the best platformers of 2024, and one of the best Switch games for kids. But is it any good?
In this video, games journalist Chris Stead details his impressions and early Princess Peach Showtime review thoughts having played through the first four levels of the adventure game. Fun! Only about 2 weeks left until it comes out! Hopefully more gameplay will be revealed before it comes out.

Not long now, but unless they have an unannounced mode (multiplayer?) not sure they can show too much else without ruining it.

After many years of playing new games on the side of Nintendo, I have decided that this will be the final brand new first party Nintendo game I play going forward. I have been playing video games for a long time, even going back to the Famicom era starting with "Super Mario Bros.". Hopefully, "Princess Peach: Showtime!" will be a good send-off for me on the side of Nintendo.

Oh, how come you're going to step away from NIntendo games? Metroid Prime 4 is on the horizon, as one example.

@@motivatedtravel There are many, many...many reasons why I have made this decision. And it is not just Nintendo, it is the gaming industry as a whole (too many major problems arose since the seventh generation). I will keep it simple and say things are not what they used to be back then ("Super Mario Odyssey" and "Super Mario Bros. Wonder" are prime examples); nowadays, the mainstream new games are geared towards modern gamers rather than old school gamers like me, which makes sense (Nintendo Museum opening on March 2024 is the main reason why I am stepping away from Nintendo as a whole). That is why I have come to this decision to retire (or at least semi-retire) from playing brand new games after March 2024 on the side of Nintendo (after April 2024 on the side of Sony). I hope you understand where I am coming from.

@@William5000000 Very interesting. I understand to an extent. It's hard to get as excited when so much feels very derivitive. Things got exciting again when the indie scene burst out, but that's now also getting bogged down. I'm still excited by the idea of rivetting single-player, story-driven experience.

Will there be harder/different levels of the baking or will I have to just do the same ones over and over again?

Hi Nicole - they only showed me the five levels you saw, but I would expect that as you move to different levels within the theatre, you'll get tougher and new levels involving the powers of each outfit. So yes, I believe there will be different levels.
