As of April 2023: Redbubble are now going to charge a fee for what you sell. It's off by a % amount so if you sell something that's $20 You would pay about a $9 fee then they take their part and you are left with your royalty (which for now a $20 Item you would make about a dollar or so.

I work for a non-profit organization that works with in-hospital patients with art, writing, and music. We already have our own website. Which avenue would be best to create tshirts, coffee mugs, etc with our own art and build an online store on our own website?

My issue with Redbubble and such is that you essentially become their employee. I know that's not how they state it, but Ebay is the same way. I have very little control over my business. I'm going with my own site. I know it's slower, but and will take longer to build an audience, but in the long run I think it will be my own business.

You definitely have way more control over everything with your own site, and while it may take time to build up your customer traffic you certainly can be successful!

I personally think POD is Dead! Now with be able to make your own shirts its nearly impossible to compete with the cost of POD. I'm seeing more and more etsy listings for like tees for $14 dollars. No I'm not talking the click bate where there is one shirt all the colors and sizes are around this price. I can't get printify down that cheap so I can't complete. I think more and more people are making shirts now.

I've noticed a lot of sellers offering t-shirts for prices that low as well, but most that I've seen are then charging $6-8 dollars for shipping so they are still charging around $20-22 total, where I am doing $21.99 with free shipping and I get my t-shirts from Printify provider Monster Digital for $13.75 currently. Not the greatest profit margin but things are getting tight for sure. If you're seeing sellers offering $14.99 with free shipping, that's crazy cheap!
