I don't know if you are interested in body modifications like piercing or tattoos, but if you are, I would love to hear how body types look with it. I'm not talking about extreme looks, but more about small changes and how it can affect the appearance. If we think that way piercing is pretty much an accessory and tattoos are just prints.

I'm thinking dramatic studs piercing, romantic diamonds piercing and ornate and small, classic just a silver/gold sphere or circle small etc., gamine coloured funny piercing, naturals wood piercing. For tattoos same as prints: dramatics geometric, naturals and romantic floral stuff, gamine cartoon.

It would be great if she could do a compilation collab with a variety of female tattoo artists and piercers on this topic as it becoming so common to get more tats/piercings. People with sense want to decide tastefully and without regrets but the topic is not ever covered in terms of: body shape, skin tone, contrast, patterns-size/type/style and locations. I know it could be tricky to do but it would completely novel as a topic.

I don’t think she would as she is just someone who is interested, like her viewers. She is still learning and she still makes mistakes (which is fine if it’s just an interest, but she’s not in a position to teach professionally). A lot of her viewers seem to think all short people = gamines, and she frequently says that soft naturals are moderate to tall, for example

That was what cemented my typying myself as a flamboyant natural. After doing the quiz (a couple times), when I went on to see the fashion and beauty recommendations, I discovered it was everything I loved and longed for. The funny thing is that I didn't wear them, maybe out of non-acceptance of myself, or trying to look like others.

As a FG I always looked horrible in prints - so I assumed all prints were bad for me. But after watching this I’ll revisit the types of prints u recommended for FG bc i realize it’s possible that I’ve only tried floral and soft/blended/flowy and very detailed prints (as those are the most common in stores). @@kajamiletic3223 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻you just articulated what I had speculated in my mind about colors and lines. Most dark cool colors (theoretically should work for me) delivers a sense of “too much, too heavy”. I could not put my fingers on what exactly is. It is the “line”. No wonder when there are small floral or polka dots mixed in the dark color, problem disappears.
@kajamiletic3223
@kajamiletic3223 2 жыл бұрын
@@elainelee4828 Yes, and even stuff like saturation figures into it because if you have a kind of desaturated, ashy skintone and hair like I do, putting on a really saturated color makes the lines of the outfit stronger and more prominent than the actual lines of the rest of my body so, you know, bad. It's floating lips syndrome but on the entire body. So for color you have to think of the lines that you're creating and their strength, but also about how your natural colors figure into it and how they contribute to the lines that you're creating.

As a theatrical romantic, I'm confused by how perfect his recommendations are for me compared to how unflattering his and his wife's clothing choices are. That said, I understand that style/image can be a higher priority than body type flattery. I guess it's only confusing because the photos of him and his wife (both TR) seem unrelated to his professional recommendations, but they appear to be press photos.
@africandaughter3110
@africandaughter3110 2 жыл бұрын
I've wondered this too. His wife's old outfits are more in tune with TR when I see them now they look like something out of an old movie. I think they dress very in tune with the image they want to produce and I'm so glad someone else poited out how they don't really dress to the TR recommendations at all. I felt like I couldn't point this out without being attacked or something. It just didn't seem harmonious??? Which is the while idea. Not saying I don't like their style. I really do! But it's not harmonious with their body lines in my opinion. Or maybe it's just to separate from my idea? They can dress however they want really 😅

Imo classic types look their worst in natural silhouettes because they need symmetry and balance, whereas natural silhouettes are oversized and undefined. So if you can pull off oversized and undefined silhouettes and look professional/classy/glam, you're probably more on the natural side of things. Whereas a classic purely wearing that silhouette looks like they're wearing pjs or something they last minute rummaged from another person's closet. Same with hair; classic types look unruly with messy hair (like they just woke up) whereas naturals can rock the messy hair and make it look like a design choice. When it comes to other types wearing classic, I personally don't think anyone looks necessarily "bad" in classic since everything is so moderate/balanced/in between all the other types, it's more that non-classics can end up looking boring or "average" if they don't modify it
@Shinibo

@Vananessaa
@Vananessaa 2 жыл бұрын
I don't know if I remember right but I believe Merriam or Aly said to wear one shade darker than your recommended colours if you're a dramatic with light contrast. I think it's relative to your body and contrast. Choose what looks dramatic on *you*. But for prints I'd personally go after the bodytypes -I don't quite see the relation to colour here (but maybe that's just me)
@thehalfbloodserb
@thehalfbloodserb 2 жыл бұрын
You can get different patterns in any pretty much colour scheme, I'd definitely stick to the pattern for your body type but try to find versions in your own colours. Even if watercolours might theoretically work for your colouring, they'll contrast too much against your body and make your bones look separate. Much better to go for dramatic patterns (the picasso ones she mentioned could be a good start point) and try to find them in muted cool colours

@Vananessaa
@Vananessaa 2 жыл бұрын
@@oliwsonx6686 You're welcome, glad it helped. One more advice, try to keep your essence in mind. Some of the older colour analysis systems mix colour and essence (kibbe also does that when it comes to the bodytypes). I'd say that's the reason why they also suggest patterns. Keep in mind that your bonestructure, colouring and essence all work together. It's unique to everyone :) I personally recommend watching Merriam's videos about her system "artistic licence" and Stylethoughts by Rita's essence system. I find them very helpful and easy to understand bc there are only 4 categories.

@thehalfbloodserb 2 жыл бұрын
Kibbe very much sticks with the idea that everyone fits into one of the categories so I'm not sure if Aly Art would consider that (I could be wrong) but there are some youtubers who use the Kibbe system as inspiration and are more open to things being more fluid and complex, Merriam Style is a pretty good example
@AutumnBRreeze
@AutumnBRreeze 2 жыл бұрын
@@thehalfbloodserb I doubt it, bone structure is not fluid(usually) therefore, no matter what, you'll be more dominant in one or another body type, now weather you want to admit it or not, is another story.. The advice you have given is wonderful guide for choosing outfits to wear for almost everyone. But as much as I adore prints, I do not suit them - any type whatsoever. As well, no stripes or anything geometric. Even the romantic Monet types. I can love the print as much as I want - it doesn’t matter. It won’t suit me. The occasional print that I do wear is mostly black with small flowers and not close together. Or a completely plain color near the face, with prints below. I have no idea why - I am guessing the colour of my skin, face shape and asymmetrical features. What you yourself are wearing is perfect for me. Plain colors, usually black or white. I can wear some other plain colors, but must choose carefully. So for those out there like me, I have no idea what group we fit in. A non print group? But I think more exist than just me. Omg I am the same. Same height small boobs but butt is quite wide. Wider than shoulders. So I get confused between TR and SD. SD style suits me sometimes as my limbs are long and I have more angles in my features. Dramatic classic I can somewhat relate but it’s too yang for me.

You won't be TR as David said they don't get wide butt or pear shape, these indicate yang. If you are very small boned you could be soft gamine. Or a curvy other type with yang

you might be a Romantic or Theatrical Romantic, but you have to consider what your joints look like. Are your shoulders very round (no matter if you lose or gain weight), is there a blunt corner in your shoulders? Do you have pronounced bones at all? Any visible musculature, regardless of your weight? I am Romantic and I have similar measurements/proportions (bust 36; waist 29; hips 40), but no matter if I lose or gain weight, my shoulders remain very round, no bones/points visible. I lifted weights for 4.5 years and I still never had distinct musculature, I just remained very soft-looking. If I lose weight, my face stays fleshy and soft. Aly has videos that can help you figure out those specific elements. Check out her other videos and you might just have to look at yourself in the mirror in a your undergarments to study your bone/muscle/fat structure. For a bra, every brand is different, so the sizing is not consistent from brand to brand. There are also so many different types of bras, so that is also a factor. The best way is to just try them on. I have sizes from 34DDD to 32D to 32DD to 34C and they all fit me. I think my bust measurement is 36 or 37 inches.

Oh wow, Thank you Sis for your great advice. Well my shoulders are round ,I'm thin and not so masculine. I wonder I'm rectangle or hourglass or triangle in shape, like according to what shape i should be wearing clothes cause i dont know about it and I'm wearing wrong clothes which makes me look straight and thin with no curves visible tho i have thin waist.

@@sonakotian925 I think any body type can have a small or defined waist, so you have to look at all the other factors too. I think the best thing is to take a photo of yourself in underwear or a bikini and do the kibbie body type quiz and check out Aly's other body type comparison videos. With your height and proportions, you could also be a gamine or natural. Oh and also, if a female has visible musculature, it doesn't mean that they look "masculine", just some people have more muscle definition than others. It doesn't mean huge muscles or anything, just that the muscles are visible closer to the surface of the skin. (For example, I have always been very soft with my body fat covering all my muscles and bones,, no matter if I lose or gain weight.) You might not even notice it on yourself, so seeing the celebrity examples and comparisons will help. Some ladies look amazing in baggy or boxy clothes with no waist definition, at all, so it all depends on the bone/muscle/fat structure and proportions. I look horrible in low rise jeans and plain t shirts, while someone like Shakira, looks amazing on stage in plain clothes like that! Even though we have similar heights and are curvy. You can also just try on different clothes you have at home and see how you look and feel in the clothes and for what type those outfits are suitable for. I look way too curvy in my business suits I wear to interviews, so I just look like a flight attendant. I always look best in girly ruffles, skirts, dresses, flowy, girly prints, waist definition , high waist pants, and my closet is already full of Romantic body-type clothes, so it made sense that it was my body type/vibe. Maybe your favorite clothing style is already the direction you should go in. Aly used to accept bikini pictures to let people know their type. Maybe message her on Instagram, she's super nice! 😁
