Sometimes when folks return from a military tour or from a prison sentence they have problems sleeping with out a guard or if it's too quiet. Some folks set up noise maker traps or sleep on a mat in the closet. There is an adjustment period when retuning to civilian life.

Actually the term "on point" came from cockfighting in England centuries ago. If a rooster was "pointed out" he was at his peak physical and mental capacity (sharp, or "pointed, where it all comes together") at showtime.

Some real shit here. Spot on I did 14 years, 1999 - 2013. Went in a kid came out a man. The “don’t judge” people is true because if you don’t judge you’re not paying attention and you will get hurt but worst yet you’ll get someone else hurt who was your wing man and that shit travels thru the prison quicker than crabs on a ho. The biggest shock to me was how other inmates knew what was going down at other prisons way before the guards did. It’s unreal how inmates find out all about you so if you think you’re just gonna keep to yourself and not chat with other inmates you’re sadly wrong. More times than not they already found out everything they need to know about you before you even got there so don’t lie to a brother. When he said “I can smell the bitch on you” he’s 100% right. The one thing you’ll take with you when you leave prison is how to read people before they ever say a word. We are animals who adapt to our environment for survival. That’s also why you should never play poker with an ex inmate because your best poker face he will see right thru. Peace

As someone who served myself (albeit only one term), kudos to your for all you did, question though, after having done 12 years, why did you not just do 8 more to get to 20. And of course, 8 more years is long as hell, I was done after 4 myself so I get why you left but are you doing reserves to get to 20, I just like to see people who get close to something, be able to get to that finish line and earn those benefits that you deserve. Of course you could have gotten out for a variety of reasons, just curious if you had that goal of getting to 20 in mind once you got past 10, me, I started out wanting to do 20 but after a couple years, the grind, I knew my path was taking me elsewhere! I'm glad you got back on track though, Wes, he has his ways of inspiring right!

To Wes watson: the term BEING ON POINT COMES FROM THE MILITARY. When you walk point you are the guy that's in front of everyone else. The people behind you are supposed to step where you stepped to avoid stepping on a land mine. Being on point was really used during the Vietnam War. When someone said "I am on point" that means he is alert watching everything and everyone, paying the maximum attention as to where he is and what everyone is doing. I really enjoy listening to your channel. Thanks Wes.

He's a stolen valor, fake Marine, always trying to prove something. A real Soldier, Airman, Seaman, Marine knows they served and doesn't feel the need to prove anything to anyone. Anytime anyone mentions anything Military, here come the fake Marines out of the wood work so they can share with us their tales of how their buddy Bill fell on some pungee sticks on a super secret black ops mission behind enemy lines in Laos or some shit hole that literally no one cares about, and the story always sounds wild as shit or the person stays super defensive. Man grow up, no people who actually served in the military were offended by him comparing it to military life. On point can mean many things, which none of them you are. I would lump you into the Soup Sandwich category. Have a wonderful day, and go grind out that Call of Duty some more.

@@kurtmeyer6431 you are right I don't have to prove anything. All I was doing is answering Wes Watsons questions about where the term ON POINT CAME FROM? I TOLD WES THAT THE TERM CAME FROM THE VIETNAM WAR. ON POINT MEANS THAT YOU ARE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE ON PATROL AND THE PEOPLE BEHIND YOU ARE TO STEP WHERE YOU STEP SO THEY WON'T GET HURT. THE PERSON ON POINT IS USUALLY THE FIRST PERSON TO GET HURT. THE VET CONG WOULD TAKE OUT THE PERSON ON POINT THEN THE RADIO MAN AND FINALLY THE OIC IN THAT ORDER. IT'S UNFORTUNATE THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO PUT IN THEIR TWO CENTS WORTH AND TRY TO TEAR SOMEONE DOWN JUST TO BUILD THEMSELVES UP. I REALLY DON'T CARE IF PEOPLE BELIEVE ME OR NOT CAUSE WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WERE YOU IN THE VIETNAM WAR? I AM IN MY MIDDLE 60S AND TOO OLD TO ARGUE OVER STUPID SHIT

@@kurtmeyer6431 you know actually Laos is not that bad. I recently went there to see how it looked. It's nice. Also I went to Cambodia and Vietnam again. The old USA embassy that got overran in 68 tet offensive is still there with the bullet holds in it. In Cambodia I went to the killing fields and to Siem Reap to see the famous temple of Angkor Wat. Of course I went to the water front bars on the mekong river in Phnom Penh and the grand palace. I live in the Philippines now. I just wanted to let you know that Laos is not that bad as a country. But in Vietnam their money is next to worthless. In Vietnam they have a million vcn bill that is worth 57 US DOLLARS. Southeast Asia has come a long way and is very modern.
