2 years ago I was shooting heroin and cocaine 15x a day. I had a successful business, money, women, everything. I lost it all but today I am a different man. I have rebuilt myself from the ashes and rose like a Phoenix. Now I am more disciplined, grateful, humble, and sober. It's ironic how I had to lose all my materials in order to achieve this state. Found Wes and he kicked me into a new gear. Ill never stop my journey. Fuck that. A bitch boy is gonna cry and think about the past, a real man is gonna hit it everyday and think about the future.

There's a old philosophy in Ancient Greece called Stoicism. Similar tenets that Wes is espousing here. Essentially they wouldn't seek earthy pleasures, because that basically makes you soft or static. In fact, they would pray for and actively seek for challenges and difficulty, because that is what truly inspires growth in mind and body. Unsurprisingly this lost favor with the advent and spread of Christianity. Think of it as the opposite of the "Prosperity Gospel" or listen to the Disturbed song "Prayer". 1st time I have heard this lifestyle taught outside of a philosophy or religion class. That is what makes GP-Penitentiary Life so unique and inspiring
