In this video I go in depth on the functions of the hybrid assistant android app. Each section of the app is explained.

Thanks, wish I knew all this a year ago when I bought my Prius V. I didn't like that I couldn't see the engine RPM and temperature of the 3 main components, now I can. All the other info is very interesting.

What does E85 calibration does in this app? Using that option can i buy e85 instead of regular gas? Thanks

Great video. I'm a senior, OBDII plug is $20. No wires needed? Monthly costs/how do they charge, by what? Are add-on guages available to PICK up status? Hate lookn at fone but will if no options. I own a '19 Gen4. I TOO, am interested in battery temperature but ALSO interested in coolant temps both engine AND inverter. AMD frm "car care nut" mentioned a less evasive way than cuttn hose to install sensor. Dumb questions I'm sure, I'm not tech savvy & I apologize. I AM mechanically inclined (I spotted 5° timing mark & u never mentioned. Important to me/not u 😁). Thanks!

if it's bluetooth, then no wires needed. There exist other OBD apps that may have other dials you want.

Lots of interesting nerdy details, but I don't see anything about the condition of the traction battery blocks or a way to stress-test for battery life. Am I missing something? [EDIT] I found a detailed stress test procedure with this app -- so it does exist.

Which OBD reader reader you recommend ? I've got the same app.but my OBD reader not working

The app developer recommends the ODBLink LX as that is the reader used when testing updates. I have also had luck with a cheap $20 amazon ODB reader. I switch between the two but the ODBLink is higher quality for sure.

Appreciate it! I have not yet done a video with hybrid assistant while driving but its something I've thought about. Are you wanting to see anything specific within the app while its in use?

You did not mention anywhere that this app is NOT available for the IOS (Apple) products. Only the Android based product will be able to be used for this. It's too bad that the developer won't do one that is for the IOS.

Yes, I leave the OBD reader connected at all times and have had no issues, though it will draw a very small amount of power. If the car is sitting for an extended period of time, I wouldn't recommend leaving it connected.

Recently the app developer built the hybrid reporter app into the Hybrid Assistant app so there is no need to download a separate app to view the data.
