Great video. I have a couple of additional suggestions and tips. Mine is a 520x from around 2003. I would recommend taking both rear end caps off, unscrew tensioner bolts for rear roller and just remove that roller completely. It makes maneuvering that belt off and on a lot easier. I actually swapped my belt to correct slippage, but that ended up not being the issue. I ended up having to replace the front roller as the bearings were bad which I should have known just by how noisy the unit had become over the years. Tip on roller replacements. It is much cheaper to just replace the roller bearings vs buying entire roller assembly and there are plenty of videos out there on how to do that. In my case the front roller has non-serviceable bearings, meaning you can't replace them. At the ends of the roller I had plastic caps that are part of the mechanism that holds the bearings in place. No way to remove without destroying, so save yourself some time and just buy the new roller if you have the plastic caps. Tip on that is to go to searspartsdirect to order as it was only about $60 there and the other parts places are charging 120-150. Good news here is that the replacement roller I got does not have the plastic end caps so if they ever go bad in the lifetime that I own this I will be able to just replace the bearings. Hope this helps others. thx.

Great tip about how to get both tension setting screw/bolts even!!! Additionally, here's one of my tips - use a piece of styrofoam to insert all the screws/fasteners in, maybe use a Sharp'e marker to label locations where they came from on the styrofoam...sometimes just a sketch of the item (TREADMILL) and poke the srews on the locations on the sketch - then you won't lose the screws, and know exactly where they go. But remember, left over parts means you improved it!

Appreciate this vid! Regarding deviation---- Do the foot rail screws (where the allen key goes) just "hang out" (on the end of the screw) through a loose/oval hole (just to keep them straight somewhat) or are they threaded at the end of the screw with a hole that fits the screw? I bought a cheap treadmill and we're having insane problems with it. The left foot rail has the "oval" hole (bigger than the screw itself), and the right foot rail is fully threaded. When I adjust the belt deviation, the right is damn near impossible to tighten (because it's already WAY tight) and the left can loosen or tighten easily. Something has to be wrong. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

That bolt with a nut on the back, it would be preferable to use a socket and ratchet so you don't lose the nut in the abyss as soon as It comes off. If there isn't enough space for that, lossen it until bolt isn't protruding from the nut. The put a piece of tape on the jaws of your wrench so it can stick to the nut. It might sound dumb, but it's alot nicer than hunting for a loose but inside of a treadmill

Hello, sorry I don't have the model number and I am not sure how many hours were on the original belt. I bought this treadmill second hand.
@kevinkgillette17 күн бұрын
Hi, James! When you unfurled your new belt, was it fairly tight around the board and rollers at first, or was it always somewhat loose? I bought a belt that I thought was correct for my ProForm model, but it looks as if it's just long enough to get around the board itself, and doesn't seem to intrinsically include extra distance to go around the front and back rollers.

Good evening I have benefited greatly from your channel I bought a new belt and it fits very well. - The sound of the machine has improved The machine is not heating up - And we finished touching the electrode in the handle *I have two questions 1- After I installed the belt, I began to hear a sound as if it was the sound of wood. This is if I was running in front near the machine, but if I went back away from the machine, I did not hear the sound, and I made sure that the wood screws were tightened. Where does this sound come from? 2- My device is the F85, and I walk on it for a full hour between walking and running. Some of them told me that this burns the machine because the device cannot bear it, so what is correct?

at 5:33 you mention that bracket under the deck. on my treadmill the belt was on the outside of that, not the inside. I replaced mine the same way, but you said to put on the inside. just curious your thoughts on that.
@HowToWithJames6 жыл бұрын
On my treadmill that bracket is in place to hold the belt on the correct line. It could be your model is not identical and they did not do this the same. I would say if it was like that before you started this procedure then keep it the same.
@thebordernow4 жыл бұрын
Really curious, Rob, but how could your belt be on the "outside" of that guide bracket? The bracket needs to be along the edge of the belt to keep it from wandering "off track." Most people would consider that arrangement as the belt being "inside" of the bracket - toward the inside center of the treadmill. It depends on how you look at it, but I would think most people would say it was "inside" the bracket, not "outside."

I have a question what will make the treadmill shut off after one second after pushing start button
@HowToWithJames4 жыл бұрын
Hello, I am not completely sure without being there but if I had to guess I would think it could be a problem with the power supply or on the mainboard there could be an electronic component going bad. I would do a search on the web to see what other people ran into with this same symptom. I would not search on my model just on this issue related to any treadmill.
@fireengineering5796 ай бұрын
I had this issue. It ended up being the connection on the two pins of the emergency stop strap. They were rusty and so didn't make a good connection. Therefore it would 'emergency stop' as soon as I turned it on. I sanded the surface rust off the pins of the emergency stop strap and now everything is fine. (sorry my reply is 3 years too late)

Hi.I hope you can help me.i have a Proform 750 much similar to yours.I bought this Treadmill on line here in Italy last year in Jan. In hours of use about 250 hours.The distributor is in England,contacted them about the problem with email,never got an answer.The problem takes place when i start the unit,as soon as i start it the belt moves to left side about 1/4 of an inch.I get on it and in within 10/15 minutes of continue usage,the belt slowly moves back to the right to the original position before i started well center.It is well lubricated What do you is the problem? Thank You
@HowToWithJames2 жыл бұрын
You need to make sure the belt is adjusted using the screws in the back of the treadmill. Adjust it until even.
@saveriodipoce22012 жыл бұрын
@@HowToWithJames i knkw about the screws.It is well adjusted,it moves to the left as soon as it starts No more than 5/6 turno. Than slowly it goes back to the original posizione. Could it be' the torque of the motor,it pulls on the roller and makes the belt move on the left. Could it be' a bad bearing on the left side,so when it starts it pulls on the roller. I am lost. The motore is on the left side
