Hi MomEberhard! A few questions if I may? I learned toothbrush rug making as a child & have picked it up again as an adult, lemme tell you I’ve made some accidental “ bowls” lol. Is there a way to avoid the stair step look when adding a color & when you say don’t increase on your newly added color is that for the entire color of 3-4 rows around or don’t increase on very first newly added color? Thanks for your info! Appreciate you doing this! It’s to much fun yet relaxing. I found to keep in lap to work on a cork board to keep nice & flat. Thnx again! ☮️

I meant to not increase on the first round only of a new color. I have found it takes about three rows to "mess" up a rug, meaning you can go a row around without an increase, as long as you double up on the increase in the next row. As for the "step" look, I have found no good way around that, other than I don't change the color in the same location. I will bring it a few inches after the last color change, so your eyes are not drawn to that location, and it seems to help.
