Have you ever wondered, how your G&G GP exhaust is produced? This video shows a couple of the steps in the process of creating your exhaust. All our exhausts are hand-made in Italy, according to high standards. Of course, we are always ready to answer all your questions!
We receive a lot of comments about the fact that no welding gloves are used. Our main goal was to show the process as well as we could, and the decision was made not to use gloves for once. Rest assured that our welders normally use protective gear. We thank you for your concern for our welders' health.
Check www.gegshop.nl for our different GP exhausts.

Depends if you want full penatration or not...this is a “boy racer Motorsport part” In the real world of Motorsport fabrication exhausts are back purged.
@raulduke85
@raulduke85 5 жыл бұрын
@@iiredeyeiiredeye1569 the material Is that thin that you surely have full penetration: the problem Is that without purge this nice exhaust Will rust like It Is made with mild steel
@iiredeyeiiredeye1569
@iiredeyeiiredeye1569 5 жыл бұрын
It's a little more complicated than that. To achieve full penetration you run the risk of the oxide build up on the inside coming back through to the surface thus contaminating the weld. To properly achieve full penetration you need to back purge. Then no oxides will build up inside and you can be sure that the weld is pure. Hope that helps
@raulduke85
@raulduke85 5 жыл бұрын
@@iiredeyeiiredeye1569 so you mean that as long as you don't contaminate the puddle, the oxide built in the internal part of the pipe Is not an issue? Won't It cause the pipe to rust internally anyway?
@iiredeyeiiredeye1569
@iiredeyeiiredeye1569 5 жыл бұрын
Trying to achieve full penetration to proper motorsports spec without the oxide creeping back through the weld is virtually impossible. That's why all high end tube welding...Motorsports/Aerospace is back purged. As for corrosion yes I guess there will be some locally around the welds, although I guess that it wouldn't travel far if you've used a decent grade like 316.

it depends on the type of weld (full welding or simply fusing together), the fused lines look much cleaner than the 'regular welding lines'. The pipe has to cope with little forces, so there is no need to have really strong welds, our exhaust are more than strong enough to stay in one piece and aesthetics are more important

@GeGBikeEU
@GeGBikeEU 11 жыл бұрын
Hi Dingle, it's basically fuse welding. For an extra neat weld, we simply fuse the two parts together. Adding a filler potentially gives small differences in material thickness, where this method ensures minimal difference in wall thickness. For high strength welding joints a filler is necessary, but these joints hardly take any load at all, so the best aesthetical solution is chosen.

4:24?...i think it's good enough for most people cause they judge tig welding by looks of discoloration, but i think this really could be done far better, its not your best welder i guess...i was surprised that he is using 2T instead of 4T and no downslope at the end of weld for SS? hence the crate at the end of weld...also weld is underfill and getting to/is black color which in SS means: burned and its loosing characteristics of SS- max acceptable color of weld would be dark purple here

Well, what about it? This is the production of G&G exhausts, an Italian brand. They make a distinctive design and have a sound that is clearly discernible from other brands. What we, as importers of the brand, love about G&G exhausts, is that they use high quality materials and that the fitment is great, in five years we've only once had to send one exhaust to the factory for not fitting properly, a good score!

Basically it is fuse welding, compare it to the method used in spot welding, but on a curve. The material on both sides is fused together, which gives a nice clean seam and is sufficiently strong, these parts do not carry any load whatsoever.

Hi Ferojson, thanks for watching our video. There is indeed no silencer packing material inside, you've seen that correct. The reason is simple; this exhaust was designed to give the R6 a much nicer, louder sound and to compensate for the big muffler box, this exhaust is designed to work as a megaphone. For those who want a muffler with a deeper sound, we also have our Ovals, see our website (search for gegshop on Google) for more pictures and details.
