During Time Team's recent excavation of a Roman villa in Oxfordshire, we caught up with the inimitable historian, Professor Suzannah Lipscomb behind the scenes at Broughton Castle.
Suzannah has been investigating the history behind this fascinating building and its inhabitants, and we'll be sharing the results of this soon.

One of my favorite historians to listen to, I learned much of what I know about British monarchy and especially Tudor era history from Suzannah 👍🏻

Prof Lipscomb is always a joy to watch for her knowledge, presentation & enthusiasm. I recall with fondness some of her past visits to TT sites talking about Henry VIII's mate Duke of Suffolk or hoping TT would find terracotta Tutor roses.

key point, that you don't have to squeeze into an hour minus commercials anymore. I would love to see an episode for each day, or even an extension of the time you spend there. you know, give it a solid work week? I'll watch it ALL if you feed it to me.

Absolutely agree. I always wondered why they went the pateron route. Not sure how British TV works. In America a network would pick up the show and then get sponsors. At any rate without sponsors they can do as they like and spend the money as they see fit.

@@happygrandma5637 right but the point was TIME. you have to squeeze for commercials in old school tv, something around 14 minutes per hour, but online they are completely unfettered.

@@happygrandma5637 Patreon allows them to be beholden to no one but genuine fans who are interested in the archaeology, not network execs interested in other KPIs that have more to do with viewership or profit than just good research.

I’m getting quite tired of every single video being just another Patreon advertisement. For those of us who will never be able to afford Patreon, I wish these videos (which are actually advertisements with ZERO content) could be labeled as such, so I can stop feeling sad about all of the things that I will never see. Life is sad enough these days (I’ve lost both parents). I don’t need what was a joy turned into yet another sorrow. 😐

That was a bit of a disappointment. Barely five minutes to talk and hardly anything worth listening to. I was expecting an interview of let's say half an hour or more where information about the Time Team organisation was given and maybe about the techniques used or the historical research on Broughton Castle. But nothing of that all.
