The part where Maya is put into the flames and Phoenix shouts at the top of his lungs her name always puts chills down my back as an Ace Attorney fan. Knowing how Phoenix would believe he had failed not only Maya, but his mentor and Maya's sister, Mia. Very well done and hands down my favourite cutscene in the entire game.

The next cutscene takes place the following day I think, or maybe a bit later than that, after he's calmed down a bit. It's in the dialogue/interactions immediately following Maya's "death" where he is constantly beating himself up over not being able to save her. He says something along the lines of "had I just been quicker... Maya would still be... She would still be here by my side..." It's truly heartbreaking

I played this game after played the 3ds ace attorney games, so I knew that she was alive, still, Phoenix's reaction almost made cry. Acutually, when Barnham finds them in the forest, was the first time I saw Phoenix sooo pissed of. IT WAS INCREDIBLE, really show us how much cares about Maya.

My favourite part about this game is that Layton just makes way too much sense as an "Inquisitor", in the Phoenix Wright series, most prosecutors are confident, clever, and act like they know everything, difference is, Layton DOES know everything. He acts so smug whenever you're playing as Phoenix and it just works... oh and also the remix to Maya's theme, when it started I just froze.

Klemen Kekec I was referring to the fact that Dual Destinies and Apollo Justice kind of just ignored her. Sure, she's the master now, but they could do SOMETHING with her. Honestly, I'd enjoy to see something similar to DL-6 happen, causing Phoenix to have to prove her channeling as true.

I know that this is supposed to take place in a parallel universe outside of the main Ace Attorney timeline, but I like to think all of this is happening while Furio Tigre was framing Maggey Byrde and no one noticed Phoenix was supposed to be abroad...

This is in fact after all the Trails and Tribulation (3th game of Ace Attorney) *The 3. Has huge spoiler for AATT and this game As well* 1. Because Maya use the Zvarri from the Stolen Turnabout 2. Phoenix Wright quote "When you suppress de imposible only the true remains " Godot~ 3. SPOILER ALERT To expose Darklaw was in the belfry she had a fight whit miss Kira and rip off the pendant there was a mark in her neck and you deduce that the same way to expose Godot in AATT in the final trail.

Well, they did redesign the characters a bit to find a middle ground. For example Layton is somewhat taller and Phoenix is a little bit shorter than in their respective games.

The intro to the Witches Court remains powerful even to this day. The indifference from the judge, the vicious cruelty of the crowd yelling for blood, the fear from Maya, the shock from Phoenix Wright. It still takes my breath away. More than that, it steals the breath from my lungs, stops my heart for a moment, and brings tears to my eyes for just a brief moment.

It was kinda sad that her actual witch powers, spirit channeling, wasn't used. I would've loved if she tried to channel a burned witch and therefore found out they aren't really dead

It's difficult to fit into the Ace Attorney series but slots into the Layton series very easily between Pandora's Box and Lost Future. I like to think Layton and Luke meeting a version of Phoenix and Maya is canon to the Layton universe, but that doesn't mean the other Ace Attorney games also exist in the Layton universe.

The Animation is so Fluid, I like Bones Unique style used with both ace attorney and the Layton series, I wish we could see more of studio bones with Layton games and ace attorney games.

Can you also add the In-Game Cutscenes where the characters' Voices are heard instead of being mute? Putting those Cutscenes in order with these Cutscenes would complete the whole Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney Cutscene Collection.

The happy ending was a little ruined for me since I could only think about Newton Belduke. He was one of my favorite characters despite only appearing in flashbacks and it's just depressing that he was the only one that actually died. Not to mention Eve is an orphan now.

I recently finished this game on my new (not the "New" version) 3DS. And I really enjoyed it. I played before this the first trilogy of Layton(on phone) and thanks to that I discovered Ace Attorney, which quickly became one of my favourite game series. And so I was really excited when I finally got myself 3ds(because I didn't wanted to emulate it) and although it wasn't perfect and sadly I knew how this game is gonna end(because I am not getting fooled for the second time, that there is magical town, where lives overpowered creature, whose is everyone scared by...(yes I am referencing the Diabolical Box)), but there were still a lot of things that I didn't expected to happen and also when you combine Layton and Ace Attorney music together, it's just hard not to love it. And from all Layton games this one has for me the best Puzzle theme.

4:50 i think this glowing is the symbolisation of the drug working and they got hypnotised and boom no more seeing black then just a little dark suit some little wind effects and a verry strong drone in pitchblack to fly nora away

The plot twist in this game was kinda underwhelming. You mean to say that for all that time, no one accidentally bumped into one of those machinery or noticed it when it rained or when trash blew into it? I think that having the town turn out to be extremely technologically advanced would make more sense. Secret technology being tested on an uncharted island. That's how the witches would appear to use spells. Although, much of the story would have to be tweaked to accommodate such a plot point.

I actually really loved the big twist at the end, it made sense for the most part and was really unexpected. Sure it had a few plot holes, but hey, what is a Phoenix Wright game without a few annoying plot holes am I right?

I think since they were only hypnotically told they couldn't see it, they could still see it and subconsciously avoided it even if they weren't consciously aware of what they were doing. You've got me on stuff getting stuck on it though, maybe the shades cleaned it up and cast an amnesia spell?
