Our weekly online conversations on the global consequences of Russia's war on Ukraine continued with a discussion about China with Rana Mitter of Oxford University.
Rana Mitter is Professor of History and Politics of Modern China at Oxford University and former director of Oxford’s China Centre. He has written a book on China’s war with Japan from 1937-1945, currently publishes widely on contemporary Chinese politics, and is a regular presenter on the BBC Radio 3 program “Free Thinking” (formerly “Night Waves”).
The conversation ranged over contemporary Chinese politics, the role that China is continuing to play in the Russia-Ukraine war, Chinese-U.S. relations, the lessons that China is taking from the present war and many other things.
