my DAD works for cat and he asked me to pick out a toy from the biggest catalogue i have ever seen and my choice was this or one of the high way trucks i have since changed my mind i am now getting this and going to my local hobby store to buy more trains thank you for this vid

It's unfortunate that the whole set is modern equipment, and then it comes with the silly 3 dome tank car. Could have done a gondola or open hopper for MOW types of uses. Oh well, aside from that, it is probably one of the best starter sets you could get.

The three dome is neat but way out of time period. A more modern tank car would have been better. Overall, awesome!

The set is $600usd and I don't think it's worth it in the slightest. If the engine had all the separately applied details, like grab irons, numberboards, mu hoses, etc... and there were 2 engines in the set, 2 flat cars and the engines chassis were diecast and not just "borrowed" from Walthers, it'd be worth the $600usd pricetag.

Walthers makes some of the best budget friendly smooth running locomotives….. they don’t lurch forward when you run several locomotives at creeping speeds….

Nice set, I love EMD, but that engine needs more details especially on the front. The excavator with the high-rail wheels is so cool.

All In All, It Was A Really Good Video. It Kept My Attention From Beginning to End. The Only Thing That Was Noticeably Absent Was The Caboose. Yes, I Know, They Use EOT Devices Now, But I'm "Old School". I Gotta Have My Cabooses. lol

These videos are great in all, but when you run the trains, you normally run them very quickly and it can make it somewhat difficult to see. Just a recommendation to maybe slow them down some?

Are any of the rolling stock made of metal?

The tank car seems out of place compared to the much more modern locomotive, other cars, and construction machinery. Also a missed opportunity to make it an SPM Oil And Gas tanker, which is a Caterpillar company. The boxcar could've also been a Generac one too, but the CSX paint does match the PRLX locomotive. I'm also disappointed you don't get the SD70ACe detail kit included with the set, especially since the construction machinery are so well detailed and the set costs over $700. Although the Power-Loc track is standard with every Walthers set these days, it's not compatible with Kato Unitrack, Bachmann E-Z track, or any other major HO scale track system. Adapters do exist, but they can be hard to find, especially since I had some life-like Power-Loc track before Walthers brought it back and couldn't find adapters online or in hobby shops.
