Depending on the nature and scope of the projects, my day-to-day job as a business analyst involve project management and/or working closely with project managers to ensure we're on track. Thank you for shooting and sharing these great videos and I have learned a lot from you!! Just curious, to your knowledge, does most companies apply certain approach to manage system-related projects seriously? For example, agile, waterfall, somewhere in between...etc. In my company, we usually follow whatever steps the in-charge person would like us to do---no real plans, only the final goal, and so there are always lots of back-and-forth situations. Nobody ever talked about the project management approach. I am wondering if this is common outside of the so-called big companies.

Hey yeah I think it depends on what kind of project managers you end up working with. It depends on the size and scope of a project. If it's small, I wouldn't worry about the approach as much. However, this is more critical if you're implementing a really big project involving upgrading your system and impacting many stakeholders. Hope this makes sense!

Thanks for this video. Very helpful! I am currently studying right now as a BA. Can you recommend some books that could help me with my studies aside from PMBOK and what are the things I need to learn more? Thanks you are awesome! 🙂

Hey Angelica! I think taking a look at CBAP book will help as well :) most of my BA video content is based on that book as well so take a look at those videos!

there's the BABOK as well and is more relevant to you as a BA than the PMBOK. Personally I find they are all too prescriptive and demonstrate the 'map vs territory' problem, quite surprising really when a BA's role is to align the map to the territory.
