Cvh 1.3 Escort was my first ever ford, and first vehicle I properly got my hands dirty with at 17. Great motors. I recently drove a 2.0 converted Cvh zetec bottom end in a Sierra, reved to the moon was wonderful. Was so light to rev you'd think it was super charged.

That is some conversion with a Zetec bottom end, I'm not surprised about the willingness to rev as a result! Amazing, that's good learning at 17 buddy! What year was the escort?

Another great video. Great and interesting seeing a timing belt done on another different engine. Looking forward to part 2.

Valve stem oil seals sorted! Tappets didn't need changing but a good soak and they are very happy.

I would really love a video on the Ford Focus mk1 footwell lighting, been trying to figure it out for a while now but I just can't find enough info on the internet. Looks great on your car. I know the wiring should probably be there under my dash but I just cant seem to find it.

It's taped up in the loom on both sides, it hides well in the plastic insulation tape from factory :)

Just out of interest if you had dropped a collet in the sump, would you just leave it? I have or might of done and if I did it fell down the side of the chain. Tried magnets, changed the oil etc. I have done over a 1k miles and seems ok, fingers crossed.. Not same engine Rocam 1.6
@usuallyfixingtinkering
@usuallyfixingtinkering 9 ай бұрын
That's a good engine the Rocam, simpler version of a Sigma. The truth is whether I liked it or not - if I knew 100% I'd dropped a collet down there that will be sump off. That may be me being overcautious but the feeling of that causing damage will be in my head on that crucial long drive to a show for example! You may want to consider the sump coming off, not a huge job and it allows you to see the condition of the oil pick up and possibly clean the sump out of any hidden crud which can form. Your collet will be in there :)

Hi Andrew. Quick question re; track rod ends. Couldn't think of another way to ask so posted here. What would you recommend in terms of renewal? remove and replace the entire TRE's or renew the dust cover and repack with grease only? Why? Im just future proofing as the TRE's are original and are 21 years old. Thanks pal. Tony (PumaGuy)

Replace buddy is my advice, they wear under constant strain and will benefit in the long-run save you coming back again soon. At 21 years old I wouldn't rely on them having little to no play.
