Hello, thank you for your kind words. To answer your questions: 1. Usually, it is advisable to use academic referees. In case you are asked to provide more than one, you could use a work referee, too, as long as the individual can provide a very good reference for you. 2. While applying for admission online, you can use your student transcript. But when you have to send it by post later on, the university will inform you on how to do that and what type is required. 3. I answered this as the first question. 4. I believe reputable companies that provide travel-health insurance to Schengen areas would do. Cheers.

Secondly, almost all the courses at the University of Luxembourg have 180ECTS, but here in Nigeria, it's usually 120ECTS. I hope that won't deter my chances of getting admitted?

Thank you for your kind comment. Yes, you can consider some scholarships, but I’m not sure the application is still on. Check the video I made on that please. Also, you can consider getting loan from a family or friend or anyone who is willing to help you, but you might need to explain how you are going to pay off.

Hello ma, thank you for your kind feedback. As far as I know there is no age limit for application to the university. As long as you can put in a strong application and justify why you want to pursue another BSc degree if they ask you. Then I think it’s fine. Maybe a masters degree in a similar field might be better.

Can't they be notarized by any Nigerian court? Also, at what step do we need to submit IELTS results? Is it at the application stage?

Hi, thank you for your kind feedback. Yes, please, it is called accreditation or recognition of your qualification. Information on this can be found here: guichet.public.lu/en/citoyens/famille-education/etudes-superieures/reconnaissance-diplomes/inscription-registre-titres.html This is only required after you have been accepted to the school. In addition, proof of English proficiency is required at the time of application for admission. If you are a Nigerian, you can provide a letter from your undergraduate institution. But, also note that some courses might have special requirements, so do well to check the programme page and also confirm from the university by sending an email.

Hello, I believe you still need a study visa since you will be staying in Luxembourg for more than 90 days. Find out if there is a Luxembourg embassy in the country you are staying in at the moment and be sure you’re eligible to apply there. You could check neighboring countries in the EU too. You might not need to go to Nigeria, but please be sure to make your findings. You can send an email to the immigration office too to explain your case. Cheers.

The money must be in your account. For the number of guardians, I am not certain. I would assume one, but I want to believe, two persons should be acceptable.

It depends on your level of programme. If you are applying for a master's, then it is a bachelor's. And you should not worry about this now as information will be provided by the institution after your admission.

In addition, there are courses taught in English, and you need to provide proof of English Language proficiency. From my experience, most universities take about 8 weeks to give feedback or even less after submitting your application with the correct documents. And you can monitor the status of your admission from the application portal.

Hello, thank you for reaching out. This is a bit tricky. Regardless of where the money is, you should be able to explain the source. If the person is not a relative, it might be hard to explain the relationship except you have strong proof and a reference letter to support it.

Yes, you’ll need medical insurance, and some popular ones are Allianz, and AXA Mansard. You can make more findings, put a call through or maybe send them emails.

Thanks for your content, But I have a doubt. In the admit letter the monthly expected expense is 1700 so for 1 year, 12 months *1700 = 20400 Euros But in the embassy website it is mentioned 80 % of 1201 {social inclusion income} = 960 euro 12*960 = 11520 euro Can anyone help me ?

When applying for a study visa, for some countries you might be asked to write a letter of intent, but so far, I do not think this is required for a Luxembourg visa. A statement of motivation will be required to get admission into the University of Luxembourg or any university.

I actually did French in my junior secondary school. Will getting a letter from my school stating that I learned and passed french in my junior secondary school enough to apply for the recognition of diploma?. And also, will the proof of funds/statement of account and our CV also be legalized at the ministry along with our other documents?. Thanks.

To be sure, could you share the link to the information so I can clarify this? In addition, you do not need to legalise the proof of fund, neither do you need to legalise your CV. By this, I guess you mean the letter of accreditation. Yes, you can apply for admission without it, ma. This is how it is stated on the university's website: "If you obtained your degree from a country that is not a Member State of the European Union, a copy of the recognition or accreditation of your most advanced qualification (this document is requested after you have been accepted at the University)".

Hi, if you are staying in a Schengen state, I think you still have to apply for a study visa because you will be staying in Luxembourg for over 90 days. The same requirements should be met too, but you might need to find out the modalities for the visa appointment in the country you will be applying from. You might not need to apply from a Belgium embassy like those in Nigeria would.

Not at all. What matters is the closing balance at the time of your visa application and maybe three months or more before then. The money should be in the account for some months before the visa. And most importantly, you should be able to explain the source of the income.
