I've got my conch done and it's about about 6 months healed. In my opinion, to anyone looking to get one, definitely do not get it pierced with a ring of any kind. I didn't do that, but when I wear a ring now (it's healed enough to do so) and sleep on it, it gets very very sore and angry by the morning. I can only imagine how painful and irritating it would be for a fresh piercing that's trying to heal. Anyway, love your videos! 💖

Kathryn Brinser I was so scared but my piercer assured me that I'd be fine so I decided to go with a ring, big risk but it turned out fine :) I've had it for 2 months now and I can sleep on it without any issues. of course its not the most comfy but it doesnt hurt. Guess I'm lucky hehe

Its Vale it depends on the person. I got a piercing on the top of my ear, I think they call it helix, but I got three in a row and my conch on my other ear didn’t hurt as bad. The conch was actually way easier. Although none of my piercings hurt, it was just an extreme pressure, the only part that hurt was when they put the jewelry in! I got all 4 piercings done yesterday, just go to a shop where you feel comfortable and confident. It helps a lot! And eat before you pierce! It actually helps with the healing process surprisingly and it’ll make it less likely to faint after(:

i know this will sound really unsympathetic, and trust me i am NOT unsympathetic AT ALL! but truly if you have a skin condition that you already know flares up in the conch of your ear, just choose a different piercing: otherwise you might be just walking right into a disaster!!!

My piercer definitely did not tell me 6-12 months and that would explain a lot lol. I got it pierced 7 months ago in May, and it still gets pretty agitated with small flare up keloids despite cleaning it and using tea tree oil. I would assume I’m on the slower side of the healing process 😅 That’s the major con I have for it. I got it and my daith pierced on the same day, and the conch is the one that still gives me trouble. Very insightful video!

Got my conch and third lobe piercings - barely felt the conch piercing, then it tingled for like 20 mins and then nothing. It’s been a few days and I forget I have it, only some slight jaw discomfort which I knew was a possibility. My third lobes though - I felt like my ears were on fire. It hurt so much more than my conch and I don’t know why, my cartilage is so thick and my lobes are thin. Everyone is different. If it’s something you want and you know of a reputable shop, just go and get it done. No matter how much you research, you’ll never know for sure because everyone is different. My two helix piercings still aren’t healed after 6 months, go figure. Great video by the way!!! :)

I got my conch 3 months ago with a hoop I was planning on getting 4 other piercings - septum, helix, rook and a 3rd lobe and I done research on all of that and the conch was a last minute thing and for some reason I got that done without looking into it and not going to lie I got a bit lazy with it because I was mainly looking after my face piercings and right now I have such a bad infection it’s so painful!! I am looking after it properly now and stopped being lazy when it comes to cleaning it and it has got better but omg it was so intensely burning Also I know it’s not always best to get multiple piercings at once but my left ear has 8 piercings and I got all that really close together and it was fine just don’t get lazy like me!!😬😂😂

I actually just got my conch done yesterday and it was a really good decision. I'd say the easiest part was actually getting the piercing. It literally felt just like or even hurt less than a lobe piercing. I think it just depends on what you are piercing with and who is doing it. You want to go to a really sanitary and good shop. Mine was quick and easy and the piercer actually pierced through the back of my ear because it was supposed to hurt less that way. I guess it also could depend on your pain tolerance, but I have a low pain tolerance and it didn't hurt at all. Feels like a pinch and a little pressure. I was only in the shop for 10 minutes at the most. Regardless, I love my conch piercing and it's totally worth it!

Mine didn't hurt either---at least the piercing. It was the healing that was hell. It's OK now though. I had it done on July 15, 1994, so it just turned 26 years old. (Jan Griffiths).

My conch piercing turned 26 years old on July 15, 2020. It's my youngest. Pierced at 14 gauge with a fairly long labret stud (for swelling). Tried a ring; didn't like how it looked. Went back to a shorter labret stud, which is still all I wear in it. the piercing was easy;the healing a bit painful. (Jan Griffiths).

Heaven Lee There are many people who have gotten it pierced with a ring and it healed up fine yet others who got a barbell or stud ended up with piercing bumps. Everyone is different so just because you had problems with a ring, it doesn't mean all people will.

You mentioned that you had a little irritation with it? Could you maybe explain what you were going through? I have a rash and it's been pierced for two weeks now, I have noticed that I've used way too much salt when cleaning and I'm thinking that's the cause because of my skin drying out. No extra pain and the rash seems to be more on my ear itself. Thinking to use tea tree mixed with coconut oil to moist up a bit. See how that goes for a couple of days as I'm not sure if this could be an infection. Any advice?

Nina Kaptein she did touch on that a little in the video, basically conch does hurt more than helix as the cartilage is much thicker in that part of the ear. I have both helix and conch and can safely say conch hurt more but by far is my favorite piercing. Don't let a little more pain stop you tho if you like the piercing get it, trust me you will love it 3-6 months after the healing process is easier 😁

I got my conch and helix pierced in the same sitting. I did my conch first and it wasn’t that bad. Now the helix hurt a little more because the blood was already going to my conch. But I lifted my legs up to help the with the pulsing while she was putting in my hoop and that really helped.

+TheLouis3877 I love the look of them, but I haven't gotten one because I know the healing time will be a pain in the ass.

I can say I had no problems at all with my industrial piercing, sleeping on my side hurt a bit and the bar was a bit too short but after I had it changed out I was fine, my conch piercing however was a pain in the ass. It would not heal up and it was swollen for soooo long. Right now they're both fine but if the healing process is the only thing holding you back I would reconsider because in my experience it really wasnt that bad

For me Tragus was easy it didn't hurt to get piercer my only problems was that I took it out early which made it get infected but I continued the sea salt treatment and it was fine after about 3 weeks also I couldn't wear inner ear headphones for the first 2 months.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting my inner conch done. Would wearing in-ear earphones be a problem with that? Also, I know you said you're not answering questions about the dimple ones, and this isnt really a question but i did some research on them thinking of getting it... (I didnt) but of all the people with dimple piercings, I think yours just compliment you REALLY well! Now, i'm kind of thinking of them again. :P A few people just dont look that good with them. Your piercing just makes you look even cuter ! #nohomo
