Jennifer Crumbley took as prosecutors cross-examined her in her trial related to the Oxford High School shooting. Assistant Prosecutor Marc Keast led the cross-examination and also asked questions about the gun that was purchased before the shooting as a Christmas gift for the shooter. Jennifer also said that she didn't take the shooter to see a counselor, noticing that he seemed depressed.

@@johnnynobuddy1 Unfortunately there are no manuals on parenting but the government making laws to enforce it is not the answer either. The problem in our country is lack of spirituality in our schools. Our kids are running on their own will, parents are running on their own will and lack a higher power to help direct their thinking. So the result is depression, anxiety, and ultimately mental illness over a long period of time. Im not a religious person but damn, since they took God out of schools it sure has changed things for the worse.

My child was an extremely difficult and disturbing child from the age of 5. She played with fire, cut things with knives, broke anything glass, spoke of demons, stole from everyone along with many other things. I was a single mom of 2 children almost lost my job on several occasions, lost child care, and went to several school meetings due to her behavior. I had her committed into a behavior treatment center multiple times, went to several therapist until we from someone that could challenge her and that she liked, and she was on many different medications. She was removed from my home at age of 15 and was sent to a more controlled treatment center where she caught felony charges from attacking another patient. My point is that I did everything possible to help my child and even though a lot of it didn’t work, I still tried. These parents ignored their son and knowing he was depressed they decide it’s a good idea to buy him a gun!!!! This is why they should be held accountable!!! THEY NEVER TRIED AND COMPLETELY IGNORED HIM!!!! At the same time, the school should be held accountable also!!!!

The Crumbley's have been charged because we keep having school shootings, and the guns these young men are using come as gifts from their parents or are household weapons. Something needs to change! Holding parents of minors accountable is at least a start. The said colleges and schools are notified and flags placed on child's personal file and it follows child as they move. Parents should be advised if gun is used in school shooting they will be implicated. Find out how fast and thorough they are locked up then.

@luigi57968 I respectfully disagree with you. The prosecution is bringing in things that aren't relevant to the case. Are you a parent? Now I'm not condoning her having an affair. But I am a parent. When my son was 15, it was the most confusing time in my life because he changed right before my eyes. He went through puberty and didn't want anything to do with me. He didn't have a ton of friends. He was about to start his own band. I wasn't doing well myself at that time. I was struggling with alcohol abuse, and my daughter was in college. I was living with my boyfriend, whom both my children didn't like. I checked out a lot, but when I wasn't drinking, I was always talking to him about drugs. He wrote a song about me about how upset he was with me because he couldn't tell me himself. He always said he was okay even if I felt he wasn't. Ever wonder why girls haven't shot up any kids in their school? And especially those ages where bullies were relentless. Also, she wasn't happy about buying the gun. He asked for it. He wrote in his journal what he was going to do. She never saw the journal because he hid it from both of them. I grew up with so much trauma from my mentally ill mom and hated her and had thoughts of hurting her at that age. I also had journals that they never found. They both went to the school to address the teacher concerns about their son and was told it was fine to keep him in school but try to get him some therapy. She wrote to many of her friends that she was getting worried about him. It all happened so quickly. He wasn't showing signs of mental illness until it was too late. She explained on the stand that her hobby was her horses. There is nothing wrong with that. She brought him a few times, and then he stopped. No boy at 15 wants to hang out with his parents. I understand why everyone wants to blame her, but I see it differently. We blame it because we don't want to accept that a kid could be this evil to do something like this. He wrote it in his journal that he was going to kill people and spend the rest of his life in prison. He planned it out. The parents didn't say, "Hey, wanna get a gun..no he asked for it for Christmas. She kept it locked up and intended on him using it at the firing range. Everyone thinks she is emotionless but I see her answering every question the state asks. She isn't getting defensive. She is taking accountability that she didn't really see that much of a change in him because it happened so suddenly. The picture he drew was days before he killer those people. What could she have done? They were both working. The father was doing doordash.. I'm sure they were strapped for money. Things like this weigh alot on parents. I believe they were doing the best they could. They gave him whatever he wanted. He was pretty spoiled. So he was a spoiled kid who was not well and showing little signs of depression. If they both were drug addicts and the home was filthy, I would be more inclined to condemn her. Again my son at that age changed so quickly and yes he grew out of it. What about the parents that do everything for their kids and they get murdered by their own child? I just saw a case on that. He didn't like being told no. This kid didn't like being told no either. He alone did this. He premeditated it. He never said I need help. She asked him if he was okay because he seemed a little depressed and he said he was fine. He didn't want help because he didn't know how mentally ill he was, and it's not always noticeable to the parents until it's too late.

I can’t imagine how hard it would be to have your only close friend move away and then your own parents abandon you. On top of him not having many close friends, he didn’t have enough commitments/hobbies to distract himself from the loneliness. Any good parent would help support their child and assure that they are mentally healthy. For people feeling left out or in some type of distress , becoming a mass shooter appears to be a good way to do something notable. Ethan made it clear that he was nervous about his future. I imagine that he felt uncared for + that he wasn’t a priority to anyone. So, he gave up. He was truly struggling and his parent’s response was to buy him a handgun, instead of comforting him and giving him proper access to mental health professionals. Watch and learn from Jennifer’s mistakes. Please don’t have kids if you aren’t going to be involved in their lives 🙏.

Finally things are changing. This case is a precedent for the future and about time. It’s not the change we asked for, but it’s an appropriate power move

Obviously she’s not aware of what a hypervigilant parent is?…. Why can’t she answer the questions with a yes or no?!

The Prosecutor destroyed her . She has a bit of attitude. All of her free time was spent pursuing her extra-marital affairs

Not likely that her main squeeze Brian will be waiting for her when she finally gets out of prison. She is pathologically selfish. Any child of hers would have struggled.

I just can't get over how much it seemed she just didn't care about anything. As if she thought this was nothing, and showed no emotions or remorse fot anything. I bet it felt pretty serious when she was found guilty on all 4 counts, which carries 15 years for each count. Even when the verdicts were read she showed nothing.

Frankly the prosecutor went WAY easy on her. I wonder if he really believes in this case.

I agree. I think they could have easily dispelled the notion she was an attentive helicopter mom.

If thats all the prosecutors got then i dont see a point to this trial. I can think of alot of questions to ask her and im just a regular person.
