Watch other trials, she rocks as a defense attorney. You are going up against the state, which has endless funds and capabilities. With that said, her client completely lost me when she wouldn’t do anything differently and she is “not trying to compare herself to the loss of what others have faced”, A loss because of HER son, because as she stated, and ended her direct, she herself has lost everything. Seriously? That right there, lost me and exposed her as a narcissistic “mother” who cares only about herself and her side piece and horses.

Yeah I agree, I'm not sure anymore about her attorney and if she's doing her any favors by sticking with her representation... I had much more confidence in her when she was working together with the other one who is now James' attorney,.., She seemed almost like a different person before they went their separate ways or maybe just before this trial began... She seemed more confident and organized, more intelligent, professional and way less confused. I don't blame he necessarily and no one should because I'm sure what she's doing has to be far more difficult than it looks. Though she might not be doing herself she favors choosing to stick with the lawyer she has, I also can't blame her because even if she might know that in the back of her mind wonder if she is paying it works out by trusting the process..I also think it might be a comfortability thing because she unexpectedly got arrested and has been locked up for years now and the only sense of releif, the outside world and interaction is probably this woman and whenever she calls and visits so she is probably feeling closer to her than anyone in this world and looks forward to anytime she comes around and wouldn't want to lose her mind by requesting another attorney i imagine if could and would affect everything OUTSIDE the courtroom and she would feel even more scared and alone, who knows how a different lawyer would act and what kinda proof they are, i wouldn't want to fish that either, she literally has nothing else because she's taken from everything she's had and that includes even contact with her in husband through any means of communication. Sad..

When I found out she was privately paid, I almost died. Apparently mom’s judgment is fundamentally flawed in more than one area. She most likely is resigned to the fact that her son will be in prison for life, and wrote him off already. Whereas concerning herself, she sees the possibility of them having some type of life left ahead of themselves. I can’t imagine the amount of guilt and shame that I would feel, and would be deserving of whatever punishment the people felt was justified. I understand that’s easier said than done, but when you look at the magnitude of what has happened, how could you not feel that way? This defense counsel is a private practice and she complains about what they do and don’t have, as if the state is just swimming in a pool of money. The defense attorney clearly is inexperienced, and it shows.

This may also be a case where if the jury comes back with a guilty finding, she rules a timed served or overrules the guilty verdict. It wouldn’t be the first time in a high profile case such as this. There’s been entire podcasts on this topic and case. Even with the trial being streamed many channels have multiple attys, judges, prosecutors, public defenders, & the majority believe this is a dangerous precedent with the potential of parents all over the USA being charged for even minor infractions, including over reaching & over charging, & wasting tax payers money when the parents can only do so much. Same with the schools being charged & held accountable, when the reality is that no family or child is perfect, nor is any parent & picking and choosing who is and who isn’t responsible for the actions of another, will lead to many lawsuits the public will be paying.

Those families of the shooter’s victims wished at his sentencing that his name never be spoken again in public .
@loveforeignaccents4 ай бұрын
The victims' families requested that Ethan's name not be used during the trial, and of course mom is going to call him "my son".
@MT-rg4zb4 ай бұрын
They aren't calling him the "shooter" before the actual shooting, you'll notice. Often they referred to him as "Mrs. Crumbley's son" with some witnesses. If it was pre-shooting he was "her son", post shooting, he was "the shooter".

I thought our justice system and the law was supposed to be objective, not subjective. I thought lady law was blindfolded so the law would be applied in an unbiased manner. I thought laws were to be written in a way that makes it clear whether they were violated or not. I thought this was purported to be a black or white issue with no grey areas. Everyone who said "not guilty" said the State didn't prove their case (with proof, or evidence). Everyone who said "guilty" started their responses with "I think she should've..." Nevermind that the law allowed them to not lock up the 🔫...."I think she should have locked the 🔫 where he couldn't get it." Nevermind that he seemed like a normal kid with no disciplinary issues, "I think she should've spent more time with him." Nevermind that the school didn't send him home & gave her 48 hours to find a therapist. "I think she should've taken him home immediately after seeing that drawing." So, now it's cool to apply the law based on what you think? Based on your opinion? Based on your feelings? Not based on what the law says & what proof of your guilt was presented in the hearing? WTF?!

Children werw killed by her son. How did she handle that? She didn't purchase the gun for Ethan, but it's what she said to him about "don't get caught", and why did she and her husband go into hiding.
@loveforeignaccents4 ай бұрын
But you could bet your last dollar if mom didn't want her son having a gun, she wouldn't have let her husband purchase it for him. She seemed like the man of the house so to speak.

The context was don’t get caught viewing videos in class

She was in on the gun. It was in on the planning to buy a gun. She bragged about it. She took him to train him.

I believe the “don’t get caught” text was in response to her son researching bullets in class. How about saying “why were you looking that up?”
@user-ov3cw8iy2c4 ай бұрын
She did not tell him did not get caught killing people he had got caught looking on his phone on Google at bullets. Boys will be boys they like guns from the time they’re little bitty boys are grabbing sticks acting like their guns they’ve ever seen one or not I don’t know if it’s American or what but it’s ingrained in them and who are you who the fuck are you

I gotta say this is the worst defense attorney i have ever seen. She does good at points but is so unprofessional at other times its astounding. And the prosecution isnt much better. So much misconduct in this trial, idk how the judge allows all this. No side bars... no objections, they just yell out the whole problem infront of the jury. This trial is gonna have some major problems after the verdict

Her husband lost his job and his insurance, and she had to wait until open enrollment to qualify for insurance at her job? She should have been able to get insurance when she lost her husbands.. At any rate, I'm wondering if because she didn't have insurance, her son was afraid to tell her about his symptoms. . Ethan told a friend he wanted to call 911 because he was hearing voices, he couldn't tell his mom...we all need to learn the warning signs of the onset of mental illness and we should all have free health insurance. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. Mrs. Crumbly was a friend of mine's neighbor years ago. My friend said they were nice people. So sad all the way around.

He wasn't shy. He told her he was having experiences with demons and needed therapy.

I don't know the law in that state but that's a rule in my state. Losing an employer health plan counts as a an event where you can be added to insurance outside of open enrollment

@staceyb.5878 Yes, same here in Michigan, which is where they live.

@bugsea He DID tell her. There are tons of texts between them where he talks about “ghosts” destroying things in the house. He was prone to violent outbursts at home that he would claim were ghosts. They knew. They didn’t get him the therapy he needed (either medical or behavioral). It wasn’t their priority. Maybe instead of buying that HORSE they could have paid out of pocket for mental health services.

Very simply… when you pack years worth of information into a hour of two worth of testimony you can create a very different story. Lots of mothers struggle with their children’s depression and I don’t know of many mothers who out right acknowledge there kids fucked up in the head. Don’t be so hasty to be a Monday morning quarter back.

Them displaying big pictures of Ethan in front of the victims families like this is extremely in poor taste and judgement. He’s a murderer and that’s it.

All those pictures are supposed to show that she did spend time and paid attention to her son, just not when he desperately needed and desperately asked for it. So in my opinion, all those pictures don't mean a thing unless she has pictures, screen shots or Google history showing her looking for a therapist for her son.

I don't think the ghost business was a joke to him. I think he really was scared and played it off as a joke or the parents assumed he must be joking. So yes, they should have taken him more seriously and got him help to make sure.
