I have about 50% of my net worth in gold and silver. And i'm 31 years old, I just don't trust any other thing that has counterparty risk. I would buy real estate or land but it's to expensive at the moment. I'd rather save in gold and silver and then sell it once I got enough to buy the land or real estate outright without a loan.

I do smelt my aluminum scraps in to bars to toss behind my shop with the intent to sell it off long in to the future or use it for raw stock to cast special alloys for custom projects so im happy where I am at and in the end its a personal thing to make yourself happy

The median is a robust non-parametric statistic. If you take the mean of incomes in a room and Bill Gates walks in, his income will render the mean wildly unrealistic. The median will not change much.

Your recommendations for % holdings in metals are reasonable and plausible in a business as usual scenario where we continue along with inflation and devaluation of our fiat currencies in the way we have been doing more or less since the mid-1970s. However, IMO, this reflects a normalcy bias that has a very high risk of being invalidated in the next 10 years. Therefore, I have difficulty believing that the “wealth” you can see only by logging on and looking at your accounts electronically will be accessible or have any utility in the increasingly likely scenario of a serious financial disruption. To me, this argues for an allocation higher than you suggest, to counter-balance the human tendency to discount the likelihood of disruptive change.

Seeing as your channel is called Bald Guy Money, I think it would be illuminating to all your viewers to see your analytical approach applied to non-metal assets from time to time. You've made it clear in your videos that it's not wise to allocate too much to metals, but I'm sure we'd all appreciate to hear what to do with the rest of the money (e.g passive cash flow generation, other hard assets, etc). Thanks!

You can find it at the channel named; gold silver and definitely a must watch. Understand that the derivative markets can collapse and if that happens then everything you don't hold in your hand isn't yours anymore. Also everything which you own but have a debt on like a house our car will be collateral for a gamble you didn't make and will be taken from you. Let's hope this never happens but it implies why holding hard assets like silver and gold is a very very good idea

I appreciate the breakdown. Those percentages are very reasonable and practical. There's a need for insurance but you should never make it large portion of your personal wealth. I'd rather earn a positive return on my wealth while I can. If I want the security as I age I can always convert more of it to metals later. As to titanium, it's an interesting and useful in many things, but it's not money so I have no reason to buy much of it. If I ever become more interested in titanium and think there's money to be made there I'd do the same thing that people should do with copper; buy mining stocks. Thanks as always, Bald Guy!

I have 1,495 ozs. of Silver (mostly 90% US coins) and 30 ozs. of Gold (1 oz. Maples and Krugerrands) which is about 40% of my assets. I keep the rest of my cash in 4 week US T-Bills, a nice "cash stash" and several online high yield savings accounts, with only $1,000 each. I have $4,000 of surplus cash every month, and I'll be buying more 4 week T-Bills with that going forward. I'm 66 and I'm very risk averse, so I won't be buying, Stocks, Real Estate, Bonds, Bitcoin, etc. and I believe my plan is has the lowest risk and allows me a lot of "flexibility" to access my cash and adjust my layout of assets as I needed to address risks and opportunities which present.

I found this video quite fascinating. It doesn't describe my own stacking journey very well but then it looks to be accurate on an average basis. I'm 74 years old now but did not start stacking until I was 61 years old. That was in 2010, so I have been at it for a while now. I retired at age 55 in late 2004. I did not need the money from SS benefits at age 62, so spent most of them on stacking. I started with silver, met my stacking goal for silver in 2019 and only buy silver now when it is something very attractive to me and at a good price. Such deals are rare but they do happen. I love 1880s-1890s Morgan dollars and 1964 Kennedy halves. I also have US 90% silver coins in dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars. About 1/3 of my silver stack is in US 90% silver coins. I also have a lot of silver Maples, ASEs, and a few 5-oz. bars. In 2013, I started stacking gold and continue to do that to this day. I like to buy quarterly and usually buy 2-5 ounces for each buy I make. When prices dip, I buy a little more, when prices rise I buy a little less. This is basically a modified long-term DCA approach to stacking. My net worth is at or slightly above the numbers in the chart, depending on how the stock market is doing. Currently, 20% of my net worth is in PMs and my plan is to raise that to not more than 25% via continuing to add gold to the stack until I meet my gold stacking goal. I am hoping that will occur sometime in late-2024 or mid-2025. I also am open to trading silver for gold if / when the GSR falls to 40:1 or less. I would do that in increments of 10% of my tradable silver stack and follow the GSR down in 2-3 number increments. I will continue this until 2/3 of my silver stack has been converted to gold or until the GSR goes back above 40:1. The US 90% silver will be kept as barter money or split among my heirs to do with as they choose. I know that this is not a perfect plan but it suits me and I am satisfied with it. I sleep very well knowing that my financial future does not hinge on the competency of our "leaders" or their fiscal acumen. Peace and joy to all in the stacking community. Enjoy your stacking journey and may it stand you in good stead.

If our country actually collapses (which is very close to happening), the dollar will be gone. What then? But, if the dollar continues to exist (doubtful), it will be highly inflated and impossible to buy anything with. Having less silver and more gold might be more difficult to actually spend gold. Gold might be too expensive to use in buying/trading for whatever as change received for the purchase will be in silver. Yes, silver is a storage problem. But, it might be better/easier to use in trade/purchase of whatever. I believe that for those 75+ might find having silver will be easier to work with from the point of purchasing anything.

Great video. One context that you did not mention is that gold and silver stackers often preserve generational wealth. So, if you are in your 50’s with dependent children in your household, you should base your metal ratio on the ages of your kids. You also have the income to increase the valuation of their metal investment. As you said, the future macroeconomic events with industrial demand for green energy will yield better returns on silver.

It seems to me like all my friends are living paycheck to paycheck with barely any money in the bank and yeah it's great they make good paychecks but as soon as they get them they have to pay the credit card bills The day their job stops is the day that everything is going to collapse but I'll be honest I may not have understood this properly unfortunately. But I do always enjoy your videos Thank you for posting and I hope you have a great day.

Also excellent work warding off your viewers from silly ideas like Titanium stacking. The low prices and high markups are bad enough. Considering that Ti is a lightweight metal (i.e low density), storing and moving any amount capable netting a sizeable profit is a logistical nightmare.

I’m not so sure. Silver is manipulated to keep the green energy complex cost down. There is a very logical argument that silver must be kept down the more it is needed in industry. I wouldn’t hold my breath. I’m stacking silver as well but to be honest silver has been a huge disappointment, it clearly doesn’t even keep pace with inflation. So, in fact, there is now proof that as silver is needed more and as we run out of silver, it will continue to drop in value.

I would prefer the median for such considerations, the average is distorted by the ultra wealthy.1 Jeff with 100 000 000 000 and 99999 people with nothing, the average is : everybody is a millionaire, great society..Around the year 1900 the wage for unskilled labor was 1 ounce of gold per month, people had kids, 20% of women were working, 1,2 ounces was the budget for a family of 4 - 5. Hello Bald Guy! Love your channel and have been watching for some time. Ok, regarding this video, I think your numbers based on our current economy, are way beyond most middle-class people. With 60-plus percent of the US people failing to make monthly bills as of last quarter and the fact that the middle class is continuing to shrink, there is no way these amounts of metal could be stacked. Unless I am misunderstanding your thoughts. I'm 55 and per your chart, I should have 122.1 Oz of Gold and 2,687 oz of Silver? That would mean that a 55-year-old person should have ($268,000 in Gold and $67,000 in Silver) a total of about $335,000.00 in metals. The average median income in the US is only about $35,000 a year and you further believe the average 55-year-old to 64-year-old individual has a net worth of $1,567,000! Just curious, is that total net worth or without the metals included? Please explain where I am misunderstanding your chart.

In general I feel people put too little into their metal allocation. What is this 5 to 15% stuff like what portfolio managers like to recommend? That's like saying I dont trust whats going on around me but hey if I lose the other 85% of my portfolio oh well. That's ok. The dollar has a 100% certainty of losing all its value. As far as I am concerned people are just playing with fire. As far as the amount of silver why not aim high? Why ever stop stacking? Make a goal and get to it and set a new goal. I am never satisfied with my stack. To be honest I am kind of shocked with both the 5 ounces of gold and 200 ounces of silver idea and the idea that a thousand silver ounces would be more than enough if silver went to a big amount. Its just not enough. I always love your videos but I am kind of put off by these little amounts of metal. I believe in being in an elite club of stackers. Everyone should aim to stack their best. Forgive me for sounding eccentric but I am passionate about this game.

According to your chart I'm doing quite well considering I'm now single an 59 yrs old. That gave me some peace of mind. I'm wondering if you're familiar with Bix Weir and how he says to swap your gold for silver for the time being until silver hits its high and then swap back into gold if you like gold. So interesting to see your preference for gold. What do you think of his information about the silver manipulation and the new global agreements re solar trippling.... Therefore silver shortages? Thanks so much for info on Titanium etc, won't go there.

Hi Jennifer. My preference for gold is based in reality due to central bank preference for gold over silver. I think that silver is undervalued right now and stack accordingly. As for Bix - I am familiar with Bix and let me just say that I am not a fan of what he's doing on KZfaq. I am still relatively young but have built up a large portfolio built on real estate, stocks, and metals.
