It's nice that we got a finally have a playable Proto Man here, even if his signature whistle used at the start of stages isn't here yet. And come to think about it. he's also missing the proto reskins of the Rush items, Proto Coil & Proto Jet and possibly a new sprite for the New Rush Coil reskin. Even the Square Machine get new sounds here. So in a way, The fortress bosses being animated as opposed to being mostly static was a fantastic choice.

aside from the weird frame stuttering that happens when quick-swapping your weapon, this looks REALLY good, wow.

Looks really nice ! Love the color palette of the stage, and given MM4's high quality of stage design, you can't go wrong with remaking this. Square Machine looks lively and animated, capturing the epic feeling of Cossack's castle.

I haven't seen how is played with Protoman using Proto Buster. I wonder if his gameplay will be like the one seen in MM9. That is to say, that his buster does more damage than Megaman's, at the cost of taking twice as much damage, but that this is compensated by his Proto Shield deflecting enemy projectiles.

This is turning out great! Only gripe I have is the sound effect when changing weapons. The classic or no sound would be better in that instance.

have y'all considered an 8 way quick switch button for the weapons? Rockman 7 EP let you hold a button and press a direction to switch immediately to a weapon and i thought it was super useful.

now this is epic but on a few serious notes I do have a few suggestions, if multiplayer is brought back than i recommend having characters use their owns pallets instead of all modifying one pallet (as in have seperate pallets reserved instead of all drawing from pallet 1). it would allow you to have different weapons out at once and make it so player 2 wouldnt have to be blue. another think that weirded me out was blue proto man for super arrows, try using the normal protoman pallet or the proto coil pallet instead to match the other games with protoman. i also heard the mixing weapons thing would be saved till after you beat the game you want to transfer weapons from but can we have a more limited version thats just the rush items? like in terms of balance i just mean having the option before you begin the game to switch the game the rush items use, like have it so i can set it in the menu to have the power adapter instead of rush coil instead of having both. would be nice to replace the little kiddy toy they turned rush into in megaman 5. lastly, and this ones kinda stretching it, since the six button controller is now supported for weapon switch and that uses 2 of the 3 extra buttons, what if you made the last button pull up the weapon wheel and you stand still and use the dpad to select a weapon? also mouth?!?! protoman no have mouth!! 0/8 completely unplayable, too much water. (although he probably wouldnt look as good without the mouth.)

I like what you have in your project, it's just that the stage clear theme sounds happier with the chords, G minor, A minor, Bb, C, Bb, C, D. Make it sound similar to the stage clear theme from Sonic 3 and Knuckles but not the Wily Wars. Even so, everything else is looking good.

I'd love to see this put on a cartridge someday.
