When you notice that a peak corresponds to 2 or 3 protons, how do you conclude that its from a CH2 or CH3 group and not protons on different carbon atoms, such that they are in the same environment?

Is it not necessary for the Oxygen atom to have double bonds (in NMR spectroscopy) in this case?

The chemical shift of the Carbonyl is around 2 ppm yet some sources place Aldehyde around 9 to 10 ppm .... any explanation ?

why is the ppm so low for the two methyl groups, though? Why doesn't the oxygen pull their electrons and DE-shield them as well?

It does, but due to the proximity effect it doesn’t deshield them as much.
