This brief purr that cats make when you approach them is actually them saying "Hi", very similar to the exhalation/purring sound tigers make to greet someone.

Yep, I know that "prrbbtt" sound all too well from cats as far as I can remember. We always had moggies around since I was about three who introduced us to the fine print of al the meanings of that sound, and I currently share me flat with two toms who taught me a lot more about how to interpret that sound as e.g. "dude, bowl's empty", "laddie, I just brought you that dead mouse and/or sparrow and I'd like it to appreciated" or just a casual "Hey man, what's up?" One being me gentle giant Sisu (who was originally dubbed "Fiesling" (="meanie" in German) by his former humans for reasons beyond me grasp, so I had to adjust that by going Finnish because he's a gentle badass) which I adopted five years ago when his humans moved out and didn't give a fuck about him, so I decided that the lad was in dire need of a forever home. And then there's Lemmy a.k.a. "Junior" (a.k.a. sometimes "Fatso" in an endearing way because his appettite is _legendary.)_ But in the end, I just can't but love the shit out of both, and the most important advice I can give is: adopt cats, neuter them (seriously) and if you have _any_ chance to provide those moggies with a way to go outside (after they're neutered, of course): let them. Because out and about is just where they're supposed to be.

My kitty is very vocal and chatty and I love that a lot on him 💖 He makes these sounds constantly and his tail is up in the air most of the time he's very happy and playful 💖🥺

I have two black cats similar to this adorable fluff. Angel is like this one and even looks almost exactly the same. She is the unco one, loves headbutts and will randomly call out to you through the house when she is lonely downstairs or just to say hi. I've also gotten to the point where I whistle to her to come upstairs.. Or call out her name, and she will make trill and comes running up the stairs. She knows I'll give her a headbutt and some food. I've also recently taught her to do handshakes as well when I make the handshake gesture lol. Luna, the other crazy kitten, she is on the special SO diet coz the poor thing had crystals in her kidneys when she was 5 months old and then 1 year old. We didn't know the first time -vet thought it was just the flu as it's not normal for kittens to get crystals. But they are finding it's happening more so now with the cat food.. So we thought she was going to die. Luckily the vet had her on fluids to flush it out. She did, when we were taking her home to have get comfy and her last chance to pee out the crystal/stone. She did so in the car as we were leaving the vet lol. The vets were literally yelling with joy (everyone loved Luna lol) and she acts like she has two kidneys... If we leave the bread out she will get into it lol. She just likes numbling the sides and clawing into the plastic rofl. She runs around crazy and... If she is laying in the hall way and wants attention, if she sees you glance at her, she just rolls over on the floor, like liquid, and will meow at you in a very demanding and happy way. XD Anyhow this video reminds me of both of them lol. Looks like angel but acts crazy bonkers and so excited like Luna Lol So cute 🥰

@@thisisstrange4641 Yes, but I had a black cat for 12 years (She was a rescue, about 8 or 9.) that I never heard do anything but quietly purr her whole time with us. Had another black cat that talked often, but wasn't (Pet me was her favorite meow reason.) super chatty. Siamese are known for talking a lot, but no cat is exactly the same.

If you're a tribble fan, look for Robert Heinlein's book "The Rolling Stones". A family from Luna City on a trip to Venus, then Mars, then the asteroids. They take a "flat cat" from Mars as a pet on their way to the asteroids. It's a tribble. Or rather, the other way around. Heinlein wrote his novel long before StarTrek. Hundreds of people, maybe thousands, yelled at S.T. for copyright infringement (Heinlein has / had devoted fans.) The writer swore up and down he'd never read or heard of Heinlein's story. As he was a scifi writer this is hard to believe. But Robert took the high ground, accepted the story and was gracious about their apology. Anyhow, the book is a lot of fun.

Shortie is just so darn beautiful. She's also charming, loving, silly, playful, crazy, loves/hates koti, can actually climb walls, sweet, gets her way, loves were she's living, talkative, has personality +++++++, takes care of business, loves to be rubbed and held, need's a lot of attention and love, has a look in her eyes that says-just try it buster, but most of all she is absolutely gorgeous. When we went to the shelter we sat down on the floor in a room full of kittens and the tiniest black kitten climbed on my girlfriend's shoulder and started meowing very loudly. We adopted him immediately (or I guess he adopted us) and he's been the most precious cat for the last 2 years.

@@cindyw7008 My kitty is also black. Czarnulka. Older lady - 15 years old. Still quite energetic. Running around, bringing you toy. And yes. With trilling. Her fave toy is one of those on rod. Kinda annoying when she drags that in the middle of the night.
