After disassembling and reassembling my mother's old PS4 to clean out the dust and replace the thermal paste, the console suddenly suffered from the controller frequently disconnecting. I'm glad I was able to look at this video because it helped to remind me where I messed up. As I recall, when I was putting the system back together, I was a little bit too rough on handling the Bluetooth cable and probably slightly damaged it along the way. I just decided to buy a replacement Bluetooth cable to spare myself the headache of fixing the console's original Bluetooth cable. Thanks for the vid, dude!

I had the same issue. I checked my antenna and the bit of solder in between the plates was busted apart. Melted it back together with my iron and it worked perfectly.

Still after 5 years it helped me. What a hero

Thnks man it helped me a lot to check my antenna i had somewhat same issue when i opend the back i found at the antenna side it was little bit bended and one point probably the vcc pin pf antenna was been desoldered from the point so i just soldered it and boom!!!! Its working like charm

Great triage description and instructions to fix. Just got a refurbed ps4 from GameStop, it had this issue and I fixed it now. Btw, I couldn’t get the power supply clip unplugged so I just left it plugged in...not sure if safe, but for me it was safer than possibly breaking the clip. Thanks!

i also found that giving the console a bath works , after fully submerging it in water and washing it , my controller connects and gives no issues now

I was having an issue where my controller/ would disconnect or was moving on its own(L3/directional pads). I bought this part and replaced it on my ps4 and it definitely works better, but there is an occasional disconnect, controller lag, or it’ll move on its own. I know my ps4 first started having this issue after i opened it up to clean the dust, which ive done before with no issues. Any recommendations on how i can get this 100% fixed? I’m thinking that my controllers work fine when plugged in but i do want to play wirelessly if possible. Thanks for your help

it turns out my problem wasnt the wire it was the big metal piece at front . It was bent and when i learnt that that was the antenna i bent it back into place turned on the playstation and it worked perfectly. So the credit is partially yours
