Yes this is true. But not everyone’s monitor allows them to disable it in the monitors settings. Thanks for the tip though. I’m sure that will help solve some people’s problem.

You have to Disable either Free-sync. So that you can get the 120Hz from the PS5

@@colombiandezire1 maybe the monitar that your monitar is gsync from nividia and playstation is compatabile with freesync from amd as the playstaion is a amd system, and in some cases if you can't disable amd/nvidia sync version the video signal is automatically intercepted and redirected as it won't work while the sync is active due to vrr not active.

Yeah it’s frustrating a lot of people. All we can do is hope they can find a solution for all the people that have a 120 hz capable display. They said their focus was TV’s but a lot of people that are playing on a monitor want support for 1440p and also a fix for this issue with the hz.

You have to first have a monitor/ tv that will support it, which if your trying to get 120hz and all im assuming you know this, and 2nd you have to go into the ps5's settings and put it on performance mode as defaulted to 60hz, so once this is done, restart call of duty then enable it in game!

Did all of that. in the video I also showed me going to the settings with the game open and it still said 60z my freesync was turned off on the monitor as well, performance was also on. I know how to get it to work. It’s just not working. I’ve tried it all. Seems like it’s not anything I’m doing wrong or missing. Same with many other people.

It’s just a ps5 issue. On PC you can manipulate your display a bit more. Ps5 is being picky with which screens it works with lol we will hopefully get a fix at some point.

You can get 4k 60 with 2.0 but the only way to get over the 4k 60 is to have the 2.1

There are multiple videos of people running the ps5 at 1080p 120hz. The problem is the 120hz isn’t working for everyone, the resolution isn’t really a problem, it’s the refresh rate.

@@illient its not working for everyone, because there most likely not setting it up correctly, you have to switch the ps5 into performance mode for it to work, on games that even support it! which isn't many right now, because everything is so new, but there will be in the future!!!

@@MrHeadquarters I think it scales the resolution to a VESA standard, which the ps5 only recognizes... the 1440p confuses the ps5 and reverts it back to 1080/60 as a fallback. I ordered a little 4k hdmi converter, should be here by Monday. I’m just little late to the ps5 game. Was too lazy to follow the Sony/Amazon drops until now, haha

It works with hdmi 1.4 for some monitors. I have the asus vg24vq with hdmi 1.4 and it works. I get 120. Try using a different hdmi cord

Your monitor doesn’t need a 2.1 port to run 120 hz 1080p. They do need to make a patch that allows your monitor to be recognized or figure out why people’s monitors aren’t being recognized because the 2.0 port works up to 144 hz.

It all depends on your monitor. I have a asus 24vq with hdmi1.4 and I’m able to get 120hz on the ps5. I think it depends on if your monitor is capable of disabling free sync. I’ve also read that monitors with g sync don’t work with 120hz ( not for sure tho).

Basically there's two reasons it won't work, 1. Ur monitor/TV does 120+ Hz by display port Nd not hdmi due to it being hdmi 1.4a and below, and 2. Ur monitor/TV's VESA certificate isn't recognisable by the ps5 which means the ps5 basically doesn't read that it can do 120 which is sadly unfixable, idk what Ur budget is or what kinda monitor u want, but if u want 1 that's cheap and 100% does 120 is the Viewsonic vx2458-p-mhd (if Ur monitor has 2.0, it's basically 100% that Ur VESA certificate is the problem) p.s to run 120 u need to be on performance mode Nd acc run a game that does 120, after that it will show 120 on the console settings

Hdmi 2.0 can do 1080 120fps which is what I have a, 1080p 165 hz monitor. Another interesting thing is my brother has a 1440 monitor and in his settings it’s saying he has 2160 and 120 hz.

Yes which is something people need to consider. I already knew from the jump I’d be waiting until 2021 to upgrade my Entire pc which is why I just focused on ps5 this year.

Nobody wants to get a fan for 600 $... 500 ps5 $ is enought for 99% of gamers they get to play games eich look the same even on a 10000$ pc lol. The only difference is on pc you get more fps. But 60/120 fps is enough for casual gamers! 300 fps is needed only for pro players who play for 500.000$ tournements

I'm playing on a gaming laptop. Gl75 I average like 100 to 150fps in modern warfare. Anything above 60 is needed for real. It just feels like butter. I can't go back to playing shooters on concole anymore but I agree with you. Ps5 is sufficient to most people. But if you can't unlock the higher fps then it's almost a ps4 pro. It's worthless to me. The controller is another story tho. That is the best controller of this generation. Duel sense is the main reason you buy ps5 over xbox.

@@Misaac you have to make sure your monitor is capable of 120 hurtz or higher you have to go to playstation setting app setting and choose performance mode you have to close cod and reopen it so it can change to 120 fps mode and turn off free sync its gonna show 120 fps enabled in cod settings when you go to acreen settings its going to tell you 1080p 60 hurtz hdcp 1.4 but thats a bug that ps5 is putting the wrong input info .

I am not 1000% sure if it will work on a 1.4 hdmi port. Atleast not on all monitors. I’ve seen that 1.4 hdmi supports 144 hz on newer monitors and I’ve heard older ones don’t. So I guess it depends on the monitor. It will in the end also depend on the ps5 itself because it doesn’t seem to work even on 2.0 in some cases.

@@r3demptionnn yeah I don’t think that would work. It’s not converting or upscaling the output to what a display port can output it’s just making the display port act as another hdmi. The ps5 only goes up to 120. Which is capable of reaching with hdmi. If you’re not getting the 120 with hdmi what you might need is an edid emulator.

Since it does do quite a bit and offers a variety of games and experiences for all. If you aren’t fulfilled by what’s being offered then you don’t personally enjoy it and if you don’t already own one then you most definitely can’t enjoy something you don’t have to begin with. That doesn’t make it bad, that makes you unfulfilled. If it’s not for you then it’s not for you. I’d say at that point to look elsewhere for an experience that suits you whether it’s on PC or a whole other platform.

Well yeah 99% of the games are on Other platforms. Not every game is an exclusive. Also no 1440p was something we knew before launch. it sounds to me like you just need to get a pc if you don’t already have one, since you’re in search of higher standards and a variety of resolution and frame rate options. The system is still new and could change with time. 1440 could even be a possibility later.If you’re upset with your purchase. Sell it. There’s plenty of people that will enjoy it with what it has to offer. 4K60, 1080 120hz etc. I’m saying all this from a non biased POV. I am a PC gamer but we can’t just ignore the fact that ps5 and XSX are affordable options for those who are stuck in 30/60 FPS @1080. I also can’t play some great exclusives on my pc. (God of War, Horizon. Last of us, Demons souls, ghost of Tsushima, spider man. Yeah some of those play on ps4 but offer much cleaner experiences on ps5 and aren’t offered at all on pc besides horizon, and even that took forever to release on pc. It’s okay to be upset with things you might have wanted to be on the new gen consoles. But keep an open mind. There’s room for improvement, it’s been out for 4 months but Progress is progress though. Enjoy games that YOU personally like to play and stay positive. Don’t shit on things others enjoy.
