So to be clear… PSE bent over backwards to give you great customer service and you said screw them I’ll go to another company? This happens to bows all the time for every manufacturer. If this had happened to me I think I would be a PSE lifer due to them working with me….. I have no ties to PSE but this is silly….

Man that terrible that happened to you man I happy to hear the PSE reps were able to get you up and running so you could shoot the course buddy but as far as you saying you lost your peace of mind and confidence in your bow limbs I can understand that but I don't know if you realize that Gordon glass limb company makes all the limbs for each manufacturer in the U.S so it doesn't matter what brand of bow you go with your still getting the same quality and same manufacturers limbs even with the Hoyt bow you swapped yours out for you still got the same limbs made by the same company just with a different paint job and logo stamped on them . Every US bow company outsources their limbs to Gordon glass limb company and have been doing so for decades. Just thought you'd like to know best of luck to you and your new bow . I love the color it's beautiful man 👍🎯🏹👍

I've seen "unzipped" limbs on every major manufacturer. I've owned Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech and PSE. Shoot what you shoot best.

Just an FYI. All of the limbs for all of the bow companies are made by the same manufacturer. No matter what you are being told.

Maybe, but limbs are built to a particular bow manufacturer’s requested specifications, which differ drastically between companies.

I was a huge PSE fan for over a decade back in the late 90's/mid 2k's. Then I switched to Hoyt and haven't looked back. I go shoot all the new bows every year at my LBS and haven't found anything that would make me want to go to another brand. Maybe if they sponsored me :).

Yeah I definitely like to shoot all the new bows I can. It takes me a little longer considering I’m a lefty. But I’m definitely extremely happy with my Hoyt.

Interesting video, I found it looking to upgrade from my carbon Hoyt. I’ve owned carbon Hoyt’s since they have came out and have had 3 sets of limbs replaced by Hoyt over the years, 65lbs, 70lbs and custom 75lbs limbs. I’ve also had a carbon riser come apart and was warrantied by Hoyt. Anyway, I still think Hoyts are great bows, I’m just wanting a longer ATA carbon bow and the Hoyt Ultras are too slow at 28” draw and honestly the carbon Hoyts have gotten so heavy the carbon really doesn’t offer anything over the aluminum now.

I see you wearing a Hoyt hat. Man I can't believe that is still an issue for p.s.e. on going for 20+years. I just recently purchased my 3rd Hoyt. The Z 1 S, it's also a smooth drawing bow. Almost robinhooded broadhead turning.

On any important hunt or tournament if at all possible have a back up bow. Lesson I learned many years ago. Sound like the PSE customer service rep went above and beyond to help you at the shoot. Understand why you changed. Confidence in self and equipment is paramount in exemplary performance.

Yes I usually have a backup bow when traveling for most things. But unfortunately I got rid of my backup bow. Yes the rep did go above and beyond. Definitely have to have confidence in your equipment.

When I shot Redding this year the only two guys in our group who had Mathews Bows both had the same exact thing happen to their limbs. One day after the other. They weren't together just coincidence. Just thought that might be relevant here

@@reddawng43x91so far since the HBX cam has come out my local shop has replaced more Hoyt limbs than any other make. I’ve had one go out a Ventum pro 33, buddy had a set go bad on his rx7, and another buddy has had a set go out on his Ventum 33. Cant really say Hoyt’s are tougher than anyone else if they are consistently cracking limbs.

The more pre-bend the limbs have, the more chance you could get a compression splinter. But none of them are immune. Hoyts are notorious for splintering on the edge. The issue for me would be the fact that just a few years down the road, PSE may not have any limbs available for the Mach 34. If I chose to shun PSE, it would be for that reason alone. That being said, who the hell would go all the way out to a western hunt without a complete back-up bow this day and time? Not me. I'll probably have my bow press and extra limbs and cams, plus a back-up bow.

@@denniskay8178No - The actual limb material is made by Gordon's Composites. The bow companies grind the 'blanks' but they do not make the limbs from scratch....Gordons is a massive company, the bow side of stuff for them is small fry...they had serious problems with clear glass laminates for trad bows. They consistently weren't propely clear with streaks running through them. these were areas where the glass fibers weren't properly coated in resin.....Gordon's basically said they couldn't care less. Sounds like these limbs are having the same 'issues'. Ultimately if the load on the limbs is appropriate the only likely reason for them to fail is incorrect wetting of the fibers with resin.

How many arrows do you think you shot threw the Mach 34? I was wondering if the carbon fatigues after awhile but I’m not sure if it does. I picked one up in April and prolly put close to 4000 shots threw it. This has me a little worried now.

I’ve had it about 6 months so I probably at least had around the same as you maybe a little more. I really did like the bow. But after mine did that and I seen a few others doing the same. But it may never happen to yours.

Actually this is the first I have heard of PSE limbs splitting. I have an EVL and a Mach 34. I have over 10 K shots on my EVL and maybe half that on my Mach. Whether I’m shooting 3D or hunting, I always have both bows. One is none, two is one.

Damn, was thinking about switching to PSE. How’s the levitate as far as splitting? Also, aren’t the split limbs supposed to fix the splintering? I have APA and their solid limb and have had multiple splits and was thinking it’s due to the solid limb “v.” But split limbs get rid of that issue..

It’s becoming apparent that quality issues with PSE is starting to degrade, since the change of ownership of PSE from founder/original owner ( Pete Shepley ) to some off brand investment group. Pretty darn sad. I still own 4 original bows ( before change of ownership ) of earlier years, and they all shoot lights out to this day, with proper maintenance, and maybe some minor accessory changes like upgraded sights, and that’s pretty much it. All in all, all 4 of them seem to shoot better if not the same performance as the day they were out of the box. Sorry for your dilemma, but hey…..nice rig ya got there buddy…good luck with future TAC, and future hunts 😎🏹🏹👍

Yeah I was afraid of that after the ownership change. I thought it may have been a fluke. But after seeing the same problem on several other bows. I knew it was the best decision.
