I Like the sound deadening from Steg! My Concern is all the extra weight added to the car with all thee sound deadening added every where from the previous shop.

yay, black screws, finally ! lol looks really good pete, the pillars blend really nicely, looking forwards to the final video on this mk8 golf. Also these so called installer type shops must realise that at some point there will be a que to your workshop and NOT thiers ! because the work i have seen you share from several bad installers is genuinely laughable. Shame on them !

I have a Hyundai veloster turbo, and it comes with the dimension audio sound system. Which does have the center speaker up front in the dash. When I installed my new system..it just got in the way of the sound image and clarity, so I disconnected it and honestly it's now 100x better for sound. I can have a better center image with the A-pillar speakers than before.

Well Peter, its funny you mentioned that you are now using polyester for soundproofing, when you replied under swift sounddeadening video, that "Polyester is not for soundproofing, that’s for sure." Anyway if someone is interested, company named Gladen is selling the same material, but usually Steg is a bit cheaper.

Hi Peter. Love the channel and the very informative videos. Just had a quick question. I would love to do A pillars like you have done in this build but my vehicle has airbags in this location. I’m guessing this would mean this would not be an option for me. Any ideas on best location or is my only option stock location?

Hi, all the cars have airbag in them where we modify the pillars, it’s not an issue. Please scroll back on the channel and you’ll find a video about this exact topic. I think it was shared in 2019 (A-pillar builds and airbags or something like this).

Very nice installation Peter. I have a question for you, we have the same Golf with the 6+1 Speakers setup. It sounded "fine" in the showroom but obviously once out in real life it's not very good .. What would you recommend we do as a small upgrade to improve the sound? I guess adding an active subwoofer somewhere? While this build is amazing, we definitely want to run everything through the car's media system. Also: Curiosity, how much did a build like this one cost?

If you want HU integration, then you should figure out where you can tap into the MOST line (possibly MOST150) and use a Nav-TV / Mobridge box, so you can get clean sound. Adding a sub is probably the first step that’s worth doing for sure, but having a DSP amp for components brings the biggest improvement once the system is retuned too. System like this are around 5.5-8k here depending of specs of equipment and fabrication time / amount of soundproofing needed. That price can be vastly different in different countries.

How is the Steg ? Better than Voce by quite a bit? I dont know alot about Steg...

Not only is steg better than voce but its miles ahead of even the likes of hertz mille legends. Steg in my opinion is simply a cut about but as Peter always says you can have the best equipment but if installation isn't right then the outcome won't be great.

Is that blanket roll similar to polyfill batting, can't seam to find anything similar in the US? I've used foam for decoupling and mass loaded vinyl roll in the past, but that stuff makes much more sense.
