Great news! Hopefully this will increase PSVR 2 sales which will in turn lead to more VR games for PS5!

At least for me, this more than makes up for the lack of VR support in Astrobot. Never expected Sony to do such a consumer-friendly move when I originally bought the PSVR2, but this is absolutely incredible and I am so close to finally playing Half-Life: Alyx for the first time!!

I’m a brick when it comes to computer stuff. The reason the PSVR2 was perfect for me was because it just connects to the ps5. I haven’t had a pc in well over 10 years. If I wanted to buy a pc specifically to play the psvr2 what would I need? Preferably a computer that I can just take out of a box and connect, not one I gotta build, figure out, etc. Exciting news nonetheless!

This is fine but Sony still really needs to support bringing PC games to PSVR2. If not we can only hope that Impact Realitu and Flat2VR along wotbVR Monkey will be able to continue the amazing PSVR2 on PS5 catalog.

This is really cool, and I can actually be okay with some missing features, but I wonder if they can bring HDR and eye tracking in with a later update. Or at least HDR.

I'm interested to know if a person can setup a haptic profile from Steam..I did that with Quest2..game was Knux hands , I got the rumble haptic hand feedback as well..where as before I didn't, just curious 🤔

I already have a PS5 and the original PSVR...will definitely be getting my hands on a PSVR2 seems likely sooner now since I can play SteamVR games.

Really hope those features which were stripped out could be reintegrated in the future, either officially or via mods. Especially eye-tracking. I know it'd need to get patched or modded into the games themselves, but eye-tracked DFR could be such a big deal for lowering required specs on PC VR games/mods.

Im still excited and going to purchase the adapter of course, but i sure am a little let down as well. I mean I understand why there will be no haptic feedback, eye tracking, foveated rendering with eye tracking, hdr… being that psvr2 was built to work directly with ps5, but im still excited we are getting any pc support at all. Cant wait to play half life alyx, half life 1 and 2 vr mod, res 2 and res 3 vr mod, skyrim vr with mods, fallout 4 vr with mods, firewatch vr mod , duck season and so much more!!!

cool... good price too. my 1st thought though (as ps5/psvr2 owner) is, "Time to buy a gaming PC"... not sure, thats Sony's intention though ;) shame about lack of eye tracking, as far as DFR, I don't think it matters too much (FFR is ok for frensel lenses imo) , HDR slightly bigger loss. it'll be interesting to see how well the sense controllers work. honestly, a bit surprising, I cannot see this helping VR takeup, either pcvr or psvr/ps5, but personally, it'll help me - so I can play ACC/WRC in VR (via PC), so selfishly its good news.

The only bummer of this to me is the eye tracking. Other than that I love using my ps vr on ps5 and now will have even more games to play with the pc I recently bought.

this good news. BUT... i'd be more thrilled if they add Steam App on the PS5 itself and play Steam PCVR games on the ps5 console itself. this will provide a better value for our headset and console :)

I was never expecting them to utilise the rumble and trigger haptics (hope this is still coming in the future though). But, kind of disappointed about the HDR. Granted, I've read it's hardware limitation and would increase the cost to around £200 or more. So I hope they release a HDR version one day.

i guess this is good if players got a PS5 and a gaming pc but i do hear that you don't get all the features from the VR headset on the pc so its like whats the point for players who are pc gamers only, better off getting a quest 3

PSVR2 was my first entry into VR. Great system and graphics but support seems to be dwindling 😢 and seems like sony is planning an exit strategy. Finally ordered a quest 3 and it arrives tomorrow. Really looking forward to playing contractors showdown and golf+!

Well, it's a no for me then. They say "STANDARD" display/mini-display port. A lot of VR laptops I know have a combination USB-C/display port (via adapter). So too bad for all gaming PC users with combination display ports. Well, it's Sony's loss, and Meta's gain.

No DFR or headset rumble enabled - damn they didn't or couldn't get it working or allow developers to tap into it for use on PC. Not a deal breaker but does mean it limits who may be interested in purchasing it!

No haptics, no foveated rendering, the old Fresnels, no combination USB-C/display port support? What is going to make people want to buy PSVR2 headset when there are Quest and Pico, and others. The only positive outcome is for PS5 owners, allowing them to play PCVR, for everyone else there is ZERO incentive to get PSVR2 thus no effect on Sony's profits. Dumb, dumb, dumb!

I already switched from psvr2 to pcvr because I’m disappointed in the software on ps5. I’m not going to buy the adapter. Even though I still have a psvr2. I prefer my pico 4 with pancake lenses over the psvr2

So I must be the only person that couldn’t care less about this; correct me if I’m missing something: I spent over $1000 on the PS5 & PSVR2, only to have to spend another few thousand dollars just to be able to play Half Life, Phasmophobia, and….? All because Sony has given up on supporting their $550 piece of equipment that they put out only a year ago by not putting out 1st party games since launch. No Astro (Neither new nor PSVR1 port), no PSVR1 ports of the best games on the original such as RE7 and Blood and Truth, and I’m supposed to be excited that Sony is making an adapter that will benefit me in none of the ways I thought when I first shelled out the money to support their already-dead $550 peripheral.

i hope most of the features like hdr and face rumble can be patched in later, as it might even be deliberate for now to hold back anything better than base level "rumble" and adaptive triggers etc, although dualsense on pc only works properly when wired... still vr2 is an extremely comfy, "free" oled headset for steamvr. and we will no longer be locked to sony's stupid exclusive audio hardware mess. stoked, but wtf is foveated rendering if it's not tracking anything? and it's not "5999 dollars", even if the whole planet is american.

This just feels like them skirting support and responsibility for PSVR2 games on PS5. Most of us paid over $1000 on this so we wouldn't have to play PCVR... Where have the sony first party hybrids been???

Let me make 2 points. First, this is a positive if you have a psvr 2, because now you have another option. If you want to get into pcvr, you can do so. But second, this is, from the beginning, bad news for the platform as a whole. You are just in denial if you interpret differently. This is clearly, without any doubt, sony giving some scraps away, and dumping the remaining inventory. PSVR 2 might die end of 2024, no new headsets, no new games. Count on it.

Its absolutely bullsh!t and greed sony would disable not a few but a BUNCH of settings therefore making it a better experience on the ps5. Just absolutely disappointed in them. Hey sony maybe it's hire someone with a brain and could have thought of ahead and made it compatible without some adapter of course you will charge for on top of taking out a bunch of perks of psvr2. You know if you weren't idiots you'd realize that most people that have a PS VR too have both a PS5 and a PC so really you're just pissing off your own base. Wat to be smart guys! 👍
