When I exchange a greeting and smile with a stranger. I feel a surge of endorphins qnd wondered if that was narcissistic supply. Actually it’s intense loneliness that is momentarily satiated by connecting with strangers for a minute.

I needed this video, can't wait to watch it. I'm always debating whether or not it's true that 98% of the people that have been in my life have treated me like garbage, or if it's me that's the problem for thinking that way, which then leads me into going for self-isolation, where it feels the most safe. But then I replay every second in my mind of each interaction I've ever had with those people, and it makes me realize that I need to have more mercy for myself. Time for a change in the energy I surround myself with.

In a very similar situation as you! I cut off all my friends, unintentionally but honestly maybe not. I don’t want to be lonely but I push people away. People stress me out sometimes. I don’t feel like it’s necessarily my fault though. It’s weird to explain but all I ever want is to have friends and be more social and what not but then I’m over here doing the opposite. Sometimes I’m not sure if I actually like being alone all the time or is it’s habits. So Im at the part where I’m trying to be in a new environment with different energy from different people. Hopefully I can see a better change..

@taiyakidefresa
@taiyakidefresa 2 жыл бұрын
I think it may have to do with our own negative perception, I think I don't relate to none too but it's okay, it might be the brain being tricky. You don't have to adjust to what a video says you should be. I think Komi is a perfect example, because she too (at least in the beginning) used to be seen as too much for others (a goddess level), and struggled with making friends on her own (when Tadano and Najimi came to her house she was embarrassed by the books of how to make friends); she keeps most things to herself. And also I think Naruse is kinda cute but a crackhead too (maybe like Johnny Bravo) and he has sweet moments with Ase-chan (fav ship, it shows that he doesn't necessarily is a narcissist but it's more of a way to cope or something it's more like something to gain confidence he's not bad -actually seems to have heart of gold-, I like how one time he said she's cute and she should love herself), he's nice just needs to loosen up a little; Kometani is a friend that's still around even if he knows how Naruse is. About bad endings, they may happen too, not everything is perfect. And about our true feelings, it's up to us and our heart; sometimes not everyone and not every time feels safe to release our feelings. Humans are so complex and that's cool.

This video was very welcome for me! I also like the new art style of the video very much. I struggle a lot with a very ugly time I had with an ex partner of mine who treated me very badly, which gave me a lot of self-doubt. But with all the aspects discussed in the video I find a bit more self-assurance of me being not so much the problem at all. And yes: In almost all cases I come along very well with other people, while she's leaving scorched earth all over the place. I discuss my weaknesses very oftenly and read a lot about self-optimization, while she talks a lot about other peoples' faults and reads a lot of garbage. It still hurts very much oftenly, but I realised that there's no point in focusing on people who mistreated you. You can only end the contact and work on yourself. Toxic people will screw up their relationships just by their own - so there's no necessity to seek revenge. Now I feel a bit more courageous - thanks for the vid!

I had a bit of an epiphany recently in understanding why Buddha preached against close attachment to individuals if you want to avoid suffering. It's like ships at dock: if the ship was nailed to the dock by rigid fixings then both boat and wharf would be damaged by tides, wave action and departures so you use ropes that can be cast off without changing the integrity of either ship or dock. The opposite is like "Brangelina" where identities are merged and change necessarily involves trauma.

It's hard to say Q1. I feel a want to know everything about everything. Q2. I'm far from perfect, though it often feels like I have to be. Q3. I'm quite the coward, so I'll preemptively end relations if it looks like it's going for the rocks it also doesn't help I don't really know how to articulate my thoughts properly. Q4. I've been told I can be hard to read but yes, though, my pride only allows it when I'm not extremely embarrassed, and or I know I'm wrong. Q5. I know I'm better than others only because I chose to be. A tournament of one is hard to lose.

I was in a long term relationship that ended. Then was in a relationship for a 1.5 years. Point is I didn't work on my self and rebuild my self. I'm on a strong path now by not being in a relationship. I'm not looking for a relationship, I'm" dating"my self.

There is at least one narcissist in my family, possibly more, but there have been beautiful people as well. I often worry that I could have narcissistic tendencies, but this video tells me perhaps not. I’ve constantly tried to learn and improve my entire life. There is ALWAYS room for improvement! I worry that I’m not likable since I was 7, and an adult neighbor told me I was weird. Of course, she treated her boys like gods and her girls like servants, and because the girls had weight issues, she kept locks on all the kitchen cabinets and the refrigerator door. Perhaps the “weird” one wasn’t me…

Apparently, I'm a narcissist but everyone deserves companionship, even narcissists. My last relationship did end okay though, the breakup was completely mutual. I also have a really good relationship with my family. I know I'm narcissistic but I take pains to shield though close to from as much as I can, I'm not a monster. #1 I'm a voracious learner. #2 I'm open to anything that makes me better than I am. #4 My emotions can be genuine but how I actually feel about someone or something doesn't always matter to me. It certainly doesn't change my actions. I try to be at least polite to everyone, even if I feel nothing toward them. I really only feel genuinely toward friends and family, everyone else just exists. #5 I know I'm better than some people but I'm worse than some others too. At the end of the day, my desires and goals occupy my mind constantly. I do try to reach my goals in the honest and humane way though but I don't want to be stuck with a bad reputation.

Well I already knew that I'm lonely and have anxiety problems, but I also put up an act so people don't have to pity me and if I talk about my problems at all, it's just me joking about it. Because everytime I tried reaching out it either only got worse, or nothing changed at all. It's not always easy to reach out to someone when there's noone who could help. I've been to one therapist and one psychiatrist and they either didn't help with anything or made it way worse. After my trip to the psychiatry I've developed even worse trust issues and kenophobia. I know my flaws though and don't need "help". Instead I'll try and see how life helps me. There are other things that happened to me, but I don't need to write my whole life story here. Nonetheless, thanks Psych2Go, now I can't insult myself as being a narcissist. And all your other videos the past 5+ months that I've been subscribed!

I've been definitely dealing with loneliness, and as it's said in the video, it's nice to have validation that I'm not isolated because I'm a toxic person, such as a narcissist. But, what are good ways to meet new people in this day and age? I hate the bar scene, and so many places are still closed or limited with the whole covid situation.

I think i'm lonenly but strong enough to be lonely and enjoy my own company and been just me and not copy others. People often mistake that i'm attention seeker or narcissist with big ego. But actually i'm just reserved and have avoidant attached style. And acually i have low self esteem and sometimes i feel like I'm worthless. I reject pll and i'm not friendly becouse in past people harassing me really badly. These people are narcissists not me. How i suppose to beleave there are geniune people that exist ? And been truly nice not hypocrite to me when most of time people i met are rude to me and judge me becouse i'm been myself. Or been nice only becouse used you. It is extreamly hard for me to beleave that some person are geniune good. Even if he is geniune and smiling to me i still will not beleave it. I'm really amazed when i see super friendly people and show love to strangers and not afraid when is possibility danger that other person may not feel same way. I know i should be more vulnerable becouse if i'm always reserved i always will be alone. But is so HARD to be vulnerable.

I've been undergoing brainspotting and TRE for over a year now after a very toxic relationship ended abruptly. Over this time I have often considered that it was all my fault, however, in exploring literally any perspective to help me heal, I have realised that we ALL, without exception, carry narcissism. I believe it's actually a kind of protector part (IFS) that comes into being to protect self-worth. I don't believe that narcissists exist anymore, just traumatised humans who have these protector parts so developed that they have become synonymous and therefore conflated with identity. Through studying NVC (non-violent communication) I see this even more now. I believe my ex to have VERY strong narcissitic protector parts and in them that they are basically "self-like" parts and so easily perceived by her and others as both positive and also just her identity. I have hints of narcissism therefore of course too, as does anyone who actually has self-worth. We all guard our self-worth to some extent but I believe that some people are in a state of constant self worth, over-compensation that this manifests outwardly in various destructive forms some self-destructive and some destructive to others. I'm feeling so much more peace now but I now I have a way to go. However, now, I can see the way ahead and I just have to keep healing and hopefully the work will continue to bear enough fruit that one day, I won't need therapy anymore.
