Removing the upper kingpins is no easy feat. I just bought a 36” breaker, hoping that does it. I chuckled at the “led rocktight” 😂 I get it dude

Great sense of humor 😊👍🍻🍻🍻🍻 Great work building that beast. You are talented to swap that cat into a 350 Ford. 👍

If you tube says it takes 4 hours to do I change it to days and add 10 hours seems to work out just about right.

Well done, absolutely! I have a 86 F-350 that needs front seals. I've been on the fence, but I think I might go ahead and do the King Pins while I'm at it. Good video!

Might as well get it all done since you are going to have it all apart already! There’s really not much to them as long as you have the right tools!

"all i got was this guy with the big head".....that is priceless youtube right there...40" breaker bar plus a 40" emt bender gets them out! i use "led rocktite" too. most times you see a plug in place of a grease fitting, it was a clearance issue. you put the grease fitting in to add grease...then put the plug back in. looks like you may need a couple front tires!

Gotta love KZfaq comments! Led rocktite has never let me down! Or you just don’t ever add grease, which was the case here lol.

Whenever you can't find an Allen key of such a large size, just get a high grade bold with the size head you need and weld it to a piece of pipe or rod. If you cant find the tool, make the tool.

@@DrEwBaBy625 yea, I believe you lol. I actually wrote that comment right before I saw the length of the breaker bar you had to use. No doubt that kingpin wasn't coming loose on its own.

man i feel for you in the weather. it ain't west coast weather for sure. couple a points Did you check the knuckle for cracks? they love to crack at the roughly 11 and 1 o clock position. the plug on the bottom is either a reverse zerk a dimple zerk we call them, or a true plug that you remove and insert a zert, grease the bottom joint then replace the plug. this way there is no hours spent with an ez out to pull the remains of the zerk, chasing the hole and reinstalling the zerk when you break it off on rough ground. but with those huge wheels the chances of hitting the zerk with something are very slim indeed. also those big heavy wheels bouncing around on the ends of those axles are likely the culprit for ruined kingpins. you will be back in there soon with that weight. watch for bent C and cracked knuckles.rust lines will form where there is a crack.

If I remember right the ford Dana 60 I murdured for parts had seals behind the needle bearings. Mine is a ballpoint axel but the spindles look the same. And that needle bearing is to support the stub shaft so the locking hub doesn’t carry the full weight of it.
@DrEwBaBy625
@DrEwBaBy625 4 жыл бұрын
On mine the seal went on the stub shat close to the u-joint and sealed against the back side of the spindle.
@OffRoadRunner94
@OffRoadRunner94 4 жыл бұрын
DrewMan'sDriveway mine had that too plus the one right by the needle bearings too.710414 is the part number to the other seal. But it only shows up on the 91 with the spindle bearing and seal kit part number DS700014 so the 91’s probably didn’t come with it. But it goes in the wheel hub after the needle bearing and seals on the same surface that the bearing rides on.
