I couldn't stop listening to this song every time my parents fought, which was almost every night. Now they're getting divorced and this song has helped me through a lot of the process. I had it on loop the day my parents told us they were divorcing, and the day that my grandma passed. Long story short, just listening to PTX has given me a sense of comfort, and shown me that I can get through this. I know they probably won't see this, but, Thank you SO much for everything!!!

That's actually a lot easier for a bass than it seems to be for others. Guess it has something to do with the larger wavelength being easier to cut in half? Not exactly sure about that, but it's a trend I've noticed.

@sparkles37373 not to mention Scott's sustained suspended 4th in the chord even when Kevin resolves his note, going from C-F-G-B-C to C-F-G-A-C. The F-G-A gives a feeling of resolve yet at the same time you know there's more coming. Chills! Truly a masterpiece!

This song makes me think about my life. What do you run to? I think that's the reason why I'm so affected by the lyrics- I don't have anything to run to. It seems more like I'm running from everything, rather than toward anything. I'm waiting for something that I can run to, but I've been waiting for a long time.

It's because he is singing along with the melody in this song. In most songs he usually sings a counterpoint bass line (which is basically like the short notes from an upright bass). Those lines tend to give way to the melody
@erinmarantette3083

SyeedSweis I believe his track his upped a bit more than usual, but his notes for this song are more in line with the general melody (but for the most part he is still singing harmonies). But you do bring up a good point about what his usual bass line is :)

Two years ago, my choir director gathered a small group of her most talented choir members and created an experimental a capella group. We were kept a complete secret from the rest of the choirs, when we had to meet after school to rehearse, we would be listed simply as, "Ensemble." What song did our director choose to be the very first song we performed? This one, of course. Our first performance was one I've promised myself to never forget. The cheers from the audience, the pride in our director's eyes as she lifted and lowered her arms, guiding us through the song, and most of all, how connected we all were on that stage. It was perfect. The group was just an experiment. There was no telling whether or not we would perform ever again. But now, here I am, one of the only original members left in the school, revisiting the song that started it all. Ever since that performance, we've been offered chances to perform outside of school on multiple occasions, we have our own special jackets, we've been offered the chance to perform America's national anthem on live television, and our group has been given a name. We are the Encores. And as long as I live, I will never forget the small group of people who started something beautiful. They're like my family, and I couldn't be happier to have known them.

But your heart drifted off Like the land split by sea I tried to go, to follow, To kneel down at your feet I'll run, I'll run I'll run run to you I'll run, I'll run I'll run run to you I've been settling scores I've been fighting so long But I've lost your war And our kingdom is gone How shall I win back Your heart which was mine I have broken bones and tattered clothes I've run out of time I'll run, I'll run I'll run run to you I'll run, I'll run I'll run run to you, oh I will break down the gates of heaven A thousand angels stand waiting for me Ooh take my heart (take my heart) And I'll lay down my weapons Break my shackles to set me free I'll run, I'll run I'll run run to you I'll run (I'll run), I'll run (I'll run) I'll run run to you Mmh-mmh mmh-mmh mmh-mmh mmh

You need to do MORE of this kind of music. All singing, no fluff, bubble gum pop standards. Good tight, excellent harmony! You shine so much better in these types of songs. I would love for you to tackle some good choral songs like from Arvo Part or Eric Whitacre. That would just be awesome.

Lets be honest, this kind of music isn't where the money is. It's way easier to follow the pop culture. It is unfortunate, but the way of things.

Mid Or Feed I assume you understand the concept of Supply and Demand? It still counts for music... The money is where the listeners are, which shows that either 1: People are ignorant or 2: This kind of music is not as popular as the pop industry and it's more of a niché market. Both are valid points.

This song... It's so beautiful, it has so many emotions and so much meaning to me. It's the fact that it is just their voices, nothing else. No back track, no beatboxing, just purely their voices. Just singing, and singing together. I know that the lyrics came completely from the heart and soul. This is the most beautiful song out of all of their originals, and one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. I'm crying, this song is so touching. I love this group, the beautiful songs that they have covered, and the even more beautiful songs that they have created. They are my favorite music group by far. ❤

I just discovered this while listening to the PTX playlist on KZfaq. My Mom passed in March of this year, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. I cared for her for 10 yrs and she died at home and I'm haunted by her death. This song perfectly expresses the night she died.. I want to thank you guys for it. It is helping me with my grief.. facing it. You all are amazing. Avi and Kevin, thank you for writing it.. it is wonderful to hear you both sing in harmony with the others. This is a masterpiece in my view. Thank you so much.

Captavadate LeMah People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually - from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... stuff.

I've listened to this song hundreds of times and i'm just noticing that during the breakdown only Kirsten and Kevin are sing together. Kevin's voice is so radiant and pure in this that it completely escaped my field of audio. I have fallen in love with this song again

I get chills at 3:04 and 3:17 when I see Kirsten and how into it she is. She's so expressive in this video; the guys look good, definitely, but she really throws herself into that last part.

A bit late lol, but yes, it focuses on them to show that it’s their voice that is important in that moment. It’s the singers time to stand out because their voice is essential to the chord, they have the most important part in that moment even if it’s just a second.

A light in the room, It was you who was standing there. Try’d it was true, as your glance meet my stare. But your heart drifted off, like the land split by sea. I tried to go, to follow, to kneel down at your feet. I’ll run, I’ll run, I’ll run, Run To You. I’ll run, I’ll run, I’ll run, Run To You. I’ve been settling scores, I’ve been fighting so long, But I’ve lost your war, and our kingdom is gone. How shall I win back, your heart which was mine, I have broken bones, and tattered clothes, I’ve run out of time. I’ll run, I’ll run, I’ll run, Run To You. I’ll run, I’ll run, I’ll run, Run To You. I will break down the gates of heaven, A thousand angels, stead waiting for me. Oh, take my heart, and I lay down my weapon. Break my shackles, to set me free. I’ll run, I’ll run, I’ll run, Run To You. I’ll run (I’ll run), I’ll run (I’ll run), I’ll run (I’ll run), Run To You.

*sigh* nna: Szobámban a fény Te voltál. Hmmm.. mmm.. " puszipacsi

My marching band played this song for my sophomore year. The beginning was a quintet of players, and I was chosen to play Avi's part on the Sousaphone. We practiced for hours every week, working on balance and harmonies between us, and it was quite possibly the most beautiful moment of the entire show. I'll never forget the friends I played this with.
