Thanks for sharing. But Please take the comments from the front lines seriously. Is this adequate protection? No hood. No protection of neck. No protection of feet? See what are other comments below are saying. And reply with either a proven evidence that the current PPE is enough to protect or modify your recommendation accordingly. Do whatever it takes to stop this pandemic.

You hierarchy are all idiots or sociopaths - right? How much of that nurse's body is exposed to droplet and aerosols from a contagious patient? What did you overpaid, glorified clowns do in the months since the Chinese plague was unleashed on the world, last year, to prepare for and stave off the pandemic?

The thing about fighting a fast spreading novel pathogen is there IS NO PROVEN EVIDENCE. Any administrator applying a strict evidence based approach is killing people, literally. One must apply scientific logic not scientific evidence to fight novel pathogens. Err on the side of caution and conservative prediction, that way any mistakes made are things like overly protecting nurses rather than having them become infected and die. This virus spreads with such small viral load that even a sneeze into a bare hand can aspirate the virus and send enough of it airborne to infect those with bare eyes walking through it. Simple logic tells you this . I can understand perhaps thinking it spread because of crowded public transit and the like, but we’ve seen it spreading in confined spaces that are not crowded at all. We’ve seen eastern studies back in January showing airborne effects , Taiwan and japan have very few cases BECAUSE CITIZENS COVER THEIR FACES. Western countries had the misfortune of being fed disinformation on the virulence of this pandemic at the beginning , but now in early April there is no excuse anymore. This thing is serious , it makes the young and the old sick , in One Louisiana hospital the head doctor reports 86% of patients who require a ventilator die, in Seattle 70% other hospitals do much better. If that’s not sobering to you I don’t know what will be. It all comes down to the skill of the doctors and nurses and luck of the draw genetically . even mild cases often have permanent organ damage and medical workers MUST ABSOLUTELY OBSERVE CONTACT AND AIRBORNE PROCEDURES THROUGHOUT THE SHIFTS . DONNING AND ESPECIALLY DOFFING PROCEDURE IS CRITICAL . Logic tells me many doctors and nurse deaths are from lack of proper PPE And from improper doffing practices particularly linked to overwork and fatigue causing handling of masks when reused . Reusing masks is tricky. Things like storing it in a zip lock bag could spell bad news later.

if there is a risk of aerosol spread (rare in COVID-19) you have to have a fitted FFP3 and a visor, hair is always tied up and shoulders should be protected by aprons/scrubs. afterwards you have to wash your hands. so it does kind of protect you as best as it can, of course the risk is still there but it's much minimised

Peter Vick I have just heard on the news that healthcare workers are over using equipment? How can that be so? I can see how it can be overused, if let’s say a nurse goes in an isolation room to do medication. Then a healthcare assistant goes in 30 minutes later to do the bedding and doesn’t need to do any personal care, then the catering staff come in after that to give the breakfast and tea. It is a waste of money donning all that equipment just to ask a patient if they want a cup of tea or to change the bedding. The nurse could have taken the clean bedding and clean towels in the room and ask the patient if they want a cup of tea. Everyone could wear a vocera or a walkytalky and contact their colleague in the kitchen or in the cleaning room. The catering staff could leave a tray outside the door, knock and the nurse collect the tray and pass the orange trash bag to the cleaning staff wearing gloves and pass the contaminated bag of linen to the healthcare assistant. If you worked as a team, it would save on equipment. Patients could help also, by doing their own bedding if they are well enough to. I would imagine the equipment costs a lot of money? I bet it is a logistical issue at the moment?

We have the virus in our town here in the UK, I am disabled & live in government housing. we're going through a disrepair legal case against Leeds City Council due to the property we are in & years of damage to our personal property caused by the conditions we have been left to live in for the past 12 years. The council contacted my solicitor last week saying they wanted a meeting in my home this coming week to discuss dates for repairs, they have already been informed of my concerns of COVID-19 with me having underlying health issues which leave me very susceptible to lung infections, I again asked my solicitor to explain this to the councils legal team & postpone the meeting until the virus outbreak subsides, my solicitor contacted us back with the councils response "Many thanks for confirming your client’s position. Whilst my client is sensitive to your client’s concerns, it is my client’s position that any further delay to the works is a clear failure of your client to mitigate his loss and as such there is no liability for this period in which your client unreasonably denies access. ".... We have contacted Public Health England & they are in full support of my decision to avoid COVID-19 as it could possibly kill me, Shame the local government aren't taking containment & prevention seriously!

Can you please put up a video on the kind of PPE that is required when healthcare workers are trying to prevent the PATIENT from getting COVID 19? As is the situation in MANY nursing homes. These nursing home patients are always there, right? Especially now during shelter in place, so we KNOW that EVERY COVID 19 case that occurs is most likley going to be from NURSES and other staff that are going INTO the nursing homes, right? SO show what is BEST for THEM to wear to protect non ill patients from an asymptomatic nurse or healthcare staff attending to THEM. Our most vulnerable population, right? Why aren't we discussing the threats to vulnerable eldelry and disabled in nursing homes and group homes from OUTSIDE staff? What should THEY be doing? As in, are they disinfecting their cell phones, Ipads, etc..when they come to work in these nursing homes and group homes? Are they adhering to infection control measures? Are there temperature checks for nurses and all nursing home and group home staff BEFORE they enter the facility?

I want to take issue with the government saying don't use surgical masks, save them for the doctors. If only health professionals are using these things, there will only be a small demand. But if everybody starts using them, there will be a high demand, and the production of these items will rise respectively. Production would rise with demand. So no don't save these for the professionals, I want everybody to use them. Or am I wrong

I work frontline in mental health for Pennine Care and have just been told other than a paper dust mask and the aprons we use to serve food we will be getting no PPE even when we get cases on our ward! We already have confirmed cases on the ward next door and staff/managers are coming and going in the same clothes treating it all like a big joke! Everyones hopeing the NHS will come to their rescue, looks more like were gonna be the downfall of the country! Shame the NHS and the government dont appreciate us like the public do and value money more than staff and patient safety! Its cheaper to let staff get sick or die with this shit than it is to supply us with proper PPE. Now i have to tell my wife (who has asthma) and kids i cant come home for maybe months because my lovely employer doesnt think we are worth protecting! Absolutely disgraceful, shameful lack of action or concern! Yet again NHS workers being treated like shit 👍 thanks a bunch!
