Even before that, Ricans have been doing that left hook combination. Chavez was mostly orthodox. Only reason why it worked cleverly well for Trinidad specifically was because he was naturally a lefty and fought orthodox. So his lead hand was his dominant hand. That’s why he was able to quickly hook with it and stun opponents with such ease….

I usually jab, cross to body and then throw the liver shot. Knocking people down with liver shot is more satisfying than a head shot
