He's probably out for paybacks since he was called out by Brandon/Jiggin in one of his videos when he harassed him threatening him with a citation claiming that Jiggin wasn't wearing a PFD... Even claiming that he had it recorded in his body cam that J just put his vest on upon existing the water...

This is actually rather important, and an excellent solution- ANYONE can get in trouble in the water, no matter how good you are, and when it happens, it happens super fast, and sometimes in weird and random ways.

That one cop needs to know his rules if he going to patrol the river. This is the second time I have seen him jump to give a ticket without knowing his rules. The new vests are awesome. You all are very respectful to the officers. Nice way to prevent problems in the future.

And the rule is obviously vague so the officer shouldn't enforce it in this instance. See Vagueness doctrine.

I do like that supervisor and how he showed he was genuinely concerned about y'all. I also liked that he was open to listening to you guys and your reasoning. It will be for sure up to the judge and court to decide in the end. For sure, it was great de-escalation skills and kudos to the both of you for remaining calm.

My friend was swimming in a river and she was renowned for her swimming skills. She got pulled into a whirlpool and drowned. That vest possibly could have saved her. I love how you guys lead by example. How you advocate for yourselves and demonstrate respect. You remind us to have fun. You encourage us to stay safe without compromising the fun.

You guys are so calm and collected while being crapped on by these dense police. This same cop was out there issuing tickets to you guys two years ago. You were wearing your vests then and the cop was too slow minded to “see” it and said you didn’t have it on. I think this cop doesn’t know how to do anything else than find professional divers and ticket them for not meeting his limited understanding of following the rules. And it’s a city regulation not a state law. Man!

Im a open water lifeguard and use this when I patrolling in the water with our rescue craft, its great if we have to do a deep water rescue, I can let my Rescue tube go and jump in and then use this if needed to bring myself and a victim back to the surface, These are amazing PDF's and 100% would recommend to others to use, I also love that they can come in different colors, I have both a Black and a Red one, Black is when im just out having a great time at the river or ocean and the Red is when im actively working as a lifeguard

This video is a perfect example of lawmakers writing laws about subjects that they know little to nothing about. They think they know what is best for everyone, but they are not always right. A popular swimming spot in my city was just cited to help pass a law that requires life jackets to be worn in waters within city limits. Many people have been found downriver having drowned when straying to close to the rapids. Those areas are off limits, but people are stupid enough to break the rules already in place.

Billy, I agree. Respect, maturity and great communication skills, Their parents did a great job. There is a lesson to be learned here in how to conduct ones self when dealing with a police officer, for everyone saying that cop on the bike is hassling these guys

I very much respect law enforcement but this is just wrong! 1) this is the same officer that ticketed Tristan and tried to ticket Brandon in one of Jiggin with Jordan's videos... 2) You guys clearly have one on you 3) All 3 of you do such good for your city and seem very respectful. The law isn’t about your swimming skills. There are so many things that can cause a drowning. These guys even wear their pfd’s outside of the city, so clearly they understand that. The first police officer was rude about it, but the supervisor was very kind and brought up a good point that the law is too gray and an officer could write him a ticket for not wearing a pfd since it wasn’t easily accessible, and also that there are a lot of situations where the leg strap pfd couldn’t easily be used and placed over the head.

The officer seemed to be quite ignorant, simply wanting to write a ticket. These guys are competent in the water, not the casual swimmer. They provide a service to make the river a better place and this officer was stepping in when he should be stepping back and thanking them instead.

The Hyde vest reminds me of a military style vest for the USN. I have also worn a BC that doubled as a life vest. It had a CO2 inflator for emergency situations and a mouth pipe for manual inflation also. But that was over 20 years ago.

No experienced diver has ever died diving, ever. He shouldn't have approached them about being safe at all. That's a BS take on the situation. In general being a police officer is like any other job. You are told what to do, you go do it, you go home and wonder how you got into the shit job to begin with.

Is a BCD not a personal flotation device? A certified river diver is 100% entitled to dive in a public river with proper equipment. that's why we get our certifications.... As a certified diver I contest to this. Great video !!

Guys (and gals) I have to say that I love watching all your videos (over & over). Through you all (and others) I'm living my bucket list, since I am unable to do much on my own anymore. It's something I've always wanted to do, but now due to a terminal lung disease, most of what's on my bucket list has to be done through KZfaq. I not only love seeing the treasures you find, but I really, really love seeing the love and friendship you all share. I envy that SO much, after I was diagnosed it seemed like I found out who my true friends really were...I love the jokes you play on each other, it reminds me of when I had true friends. Plus cleaning up the rivers of the trash other people leave is fantastic!!! Love and light to you all!! Tammy

But then it gets into a questionable area where they're being held to a special standard just for being "well known," whereas "normal" non-famous citizens would get in trouble, ya know? The law has to be the same for everyone

I think is so sad that these guys are trying to do something good, and they had so much trouble because of that. I really respect that, they search for other alternatives and it came out to be good. I still think is sad and kind of ironic, because the bad guys or people doing some illegal things, will keep doing what they do. The police officer who normally needs to help people. He pretty much lost his time and prevented good people doing good things.

The biggest issue, from my perspective, is that the police were so intent on the need to punish you. Isn’t it their job to serve and protect? You guys were obviously trying to follow the law and be safe, yet they were so focused on the writing of a ticket. Why did he feel the need to say that his officer could write you a ticket if he wanted to?

Brandon Harms you are right they could have offered a valid option or gave them instructions to speak with the city to find a solution. This city now just looks bad which by all rights probably is run poorly.
