I lived in a mold infested house. I now have a compromised immune system. I hope you were able to get this fixed.

I tried to build with Pulte in Michigan several years ago. I have no construction experience & this was my 1st home buying experience & performed my own inspections while the house was going up. Did not like the construction quality I saw & even showed up while the builders were there one day. The only person onsite who had construction experience was the "Master" carpenter & the rest of the builders looked like they were out on parole & were only there to swing hammers. Final straw was Pulte called me up & told me the type of brick & color I selected was not available. It was the same brick / color they used on the Model home one would think they would have plenty of these bricks? Found the same brick at another brickyard Pulte would not purchase that brick & make me a happy customer. Called the local Pulte business owner & was told "If you don't select another one of our brick types & color I will pick one for you as you're not going to tell me how to run my business!" Hired a lawyer got my $5,000 deposit back & walked away. Worked with a person who lived in Michigan all there life & was told "No one from Michigan will use Pulte as there is too much past history with them which was not good.

I would nominate Harry's video for an award for public service--a real Ralph Nader moment for us out here that were looking to purchase a pulte home. I will eventually post my own video. In the meantime--be careful and research builders before you put your wallet up to your head and pull the trigger. Avoid hiring a contractor the local police consider a crime in progress..

My brother bought a Pulte home (I think it's Pulte) about 5 yrs ago. This home is gorgeous and cost over $600,000. A couple of years after they bought it his wife was walking out of the garage and right as she got one foot out of the garage door the wall above the garage doors caved in and stone and other crap fell right behind her. She wasn't hurt or anything. When my brother looked at it he discovered that the wall wasn't solid and had a bunch of crap stuffed in it (like building trash) then plastered over with a stone facade. He complained and the company did send somebody out to fix it. So far that's been the only problem with his house.

Dell Webb seems to be big business with little over sight. Example of how big companies cannot police themselves if left to do so will skirt anything to effect their bottom line. Cheap materials, labor, inspections being missed. I wonder what happened to this poor guy in this situation?

I’ve owned two Pulte homes bought them new . The first house took 6 mo. To build in 2003, was there every week checking on it. The 2nd house was built in 2006. Remember the “Boom”. Well, they rushed those houses so fast built them in 93 days. Well guess what came back to bite them in the ASS big class action lawsuit. I bought a $750k fixer upper. Shit is all I got to say . Wake up Pulte

I'm so sorry that this happened to you sir, I was really interested in buying a home from Pulte, and even though their homes appear to be outstanding I think I'll pass and go with another builder. Have Pulte at least try to compensate you in anyway?

Perhaps it ought to be a law that builders have to photographically document each major step: foundation, framing, water, sewage, electrical, sheathing, house wrap, siding, drywall, etc. so that owners can refer back to the images. It would be a massive pain, but clearly these production builders cannot be trusted not to destroy joists and other structural elements.

Sorry this happened to you. Those houses are total losses. The entire exterior and interior will need to be stripped. Framing fixed and mold treated, and then built back. The only recourse will be to sue the builder.

It's really unfortunate cities and counties fail to inspect and fine code violations.

I not sorry for those owner at all! The reason why is they like to place the CHEAP stuff in their homes and blame on the builder(s)! Not everyone love open concept or UGLY color of paint and flooring!

This homeowner worked in construction and had built his own house in the past and he was ripped off by the builder of his existing nightmare of a house. He didn’t do his homework before buying it as he liked the neighborhood and the exterior looks of this house.

Pulte built us a home in Florida this year and it turned out great.My neighbors are really happy too and one of them was a builder.
