Pumpkin Cake with TWO ingredients
1 Duncan Hines Spice Cake Mix
1 - 15 oz can pumpkin
Preheat oven to 350°
Grease a 9x13 baking dish generously with cooking spray, set aside.
Combine cake mix and pumpkin until well combined. Spread cake batter evenly into the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow to cool completely before slicing. Top with powdered sugar, cream cheese frosting, or enjoy plain.

I imagine if you couldn't find spice cake mix, you could use yellow cake and add a tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice, or a combination of a teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg and ground ginger and a quarter teaspoon of ground cloves.

Yes, you could always add spices to a yellow cake mix in place of a spice cake. However, I would add these to the dry cake mix and sift well before adding the pumpkin. My daughter always turns her nose up at a dump cake and I wonder at how I raised her so entitled as to chose not to make something cheaper instead of more expensive🙄

im wondering if this batter is enough for a layer cake … as in using two round layer cake pans, or.. will the layers be too thin?

In the video I show the cake plain, with powdered sugar, and cream cheese icing on top. All three ways are delicious ways to eat this cake. I read something just a few days ago that explained most cake mixes only truly need the water. They were originally made to be that easy. I dont remember why eggs and oil were added, possibly for a closer to homemade taste.

Just the pumpkin and spice cake mix, nothing else. The cake is good alone, with powdered sugar, or cream cheese frosting. Also, check out my video on cream cheese frosting; it’s simple and so delicious. You will be amazed at the result!!! Thanks for watching and your comment.

It scares me when you pound the spoon on the edge of the glass bowl. We learned in Home Ec tiny chips of glass can occur.

I would rather make a pumpkin cake from scratch. Just bought a box of the same spice cake mix and read the ingredients and decided to throw it in the trash. The multitude of chemical ingredients in that cake mix makes this recipe a lot more than two ingredients. Back in the old days a box of cake mix just had things in it that were the same as you would have used from your kitchen, it was just easier and faster. Not anymore, now it's just a chemical cocktail of poison.

@@stephsstovebystephaniethom7249 Thank you for being understanding as I am glad that you got that I wasn't putting down your recipe at all just what they are now putting in a simple cake mix. But as you said they are doing it with everything that used to be okay to eat. Used to love using a little velveeta or cheez whiz in mac and cheese and they are no longer using the same simple ingredients either. No one knows the long term effects of all those chemicals they are putting in all the processed foods but I think we need to go back to basics and make a lot of things from scratch if we want to stay in good health. @@bls5160 Even our spices have dyes and chemicals. It is 100% of the reason we end up with unknown cancers. Even the containers, cans, plastics they are in are killing our nation. Fresh is best and it's not as expensive as people claim. Once you get started it's actually cheaper. Real Queens fix other Queens Crowns!!!! GOD BLESS🙏🙏🙏🙏
