I love learning how to use a cake mix in different ways and sharing them with all of you! This box cake mix hack makes easy pumpkin dessert recipes using a spice cake mix. If you ever wondered how to use a spice cake mix that you have left over from Thanksgiving then this is the video for you! In this video I share how to make 2 ingredient muffins with a cake mix, how to make donuts with a cake mix and how to make pumpkin bread with a cake mix! All of these recipes are 100% yummy! Pumpkin Spice Bread with a Maple Glaze
Mix together 2 eggs, 1 can of pumpkin puree and 1 spice cake mix. Pour into a 5 x 9 loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. For the glaze, mix 1/4 cup of pure maple syrup with 1 cup of powdered sugar. Pour over cooled bread and enjoy!
2-ingredient Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes
Mix together 1 can of pumpkin puree and 1spice cake mix. Scoop mixture into muffin tins and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool and frost with canned cream cheese frosting.
Pumpkin Spice Cake Mix Donuts
Mix 1 box of spice cake mix with 2 eggs and 3 Tbls of melted butter and 3/4 cupof pumpkin puree. Pipe into donut molds and bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Mix together a cup of canned cream cheese frosting with about 1/4 cup of pure maple syrup or until you reach your desired consistency. Dip the donuts in the glaze and top with your favorite toppings.

Are they supposed to be very moist, almost as if they were raw? I made them today and they feel very moist/soft. I actually left them for 35 min on 350° plz help, I don't want to throw them out if they're supposed to be like that.

I've been making that for years, I always grease my bread pan with butter, also I add a teaspoon of backing powder, It just makes it rise I bit more an makes it lighter..

Donuts: I used your video recipe and after glazing with the maple frosting, I sprinkled on ...wait for it... BACON !! Yes, I had some crisp bacon left over from a cheese ball I made for a football tailgate and I sprinkled some on a couple donuts and it was awesome!! I highly recommend trying it. The guys have already asked for some for Sunday's game. Thanks for the recipe.

I make that but don’t use eggs. Just the spice cake mix, the canned pumpkin and maybe a little water. It comes out great.

In case you still need this information… you could, but if you want to do that, I would recommend using melted butter instead of oil. That’s the standard replacement hack for making a cake mix better. 😉

I noticed that the donut recipe is missing the 3/4 cup of Pumpkin Purée from text transcript. & when listening , my ADD side was going to add 3 1/4 cups of pumpkin, which is considerably more than 3/4 cup. I actually just picked them up at Walmart. I was just in that isle last week and they had mini donut pans too! I resisted that purchase, but will likely get one sooner or later, lol@

Let me say that am STILL making the pumpkin bread. It has been in the oven on 350 degrees for an hour and a half. It’s still not done! I timed my cooking tonight according to the time you said it would take (55 minutes). I also added 20 extra minutes just in case. Now it’s almost midnight, my husband gets home from work about 12:15 and I have to figure something else out.

How easy! If you don’t like pockets, drop the pan from the counter (3-5 inches) a few times. 😀

Air pockets. If you tap the bottom of the pan on the counter it will help the air pockets rise to the top and pop. Then you will have solid cake and no holes ☺️

I bet it can be substituted if it is a thick butter. If it is a bit thinner you may need to add extra dry ingredients to offset it.

Hi there! Actually none of the above! Just combine the three ingredients and bake (2 eggs, 1 can of pumpkin puree and a spiced cake mix). Just ignore the directions on the back of the box.
