Yes, Don has drastically tightened up his defense. His goal is to tire you out, not win. For the life of me, I can never counter his jab for a 🌟 because it's too fast. Like most folks, I just whittle down his health in the first round, and take him down in the second.

3:01 I mean that's a bit much. Calling it lazy would mean that it's there without purpose. To me, it shows that even though Don is learning new tricks to try and beat you, he is still cool with reverting to his own tactics. And it's especially problematic if he's new to you, as he will more than likely score enough hits against you to be comfortable to go on the defensive for the next 3 and a half minutes to try and wind you down. Then when you think he's truly gone back to his cowardly ways, he goes for the haymakers to catch you off guard, and cause some real damage. Of course this only works the first, maybe the second time. After that, you get used to it and it doesn't phase you anymore, and can easily counter him. But it certainly does its job as an out of nowhere flurry of attacks that will certainly disorient you the first time, and allow Don to possibly even knock you down. If you call this lazy, then you would also have to call Piston Honda's and Bald Bull's rematches lazy as well, since they also use their original gimmicks like Don.

I personally love this fight. Good change of pace from bald bull, but he isn't that hard. A strategy I learned is that when he's blocking, he will occasionally attack after a hit, but you can tell by the amount of frames the block is. 2 and over means no attack. A single blocking frame means an attack. I'd argue this is way better than the other rematches, and if anything, they're lazier.

I'm so amazed by all your content, it's generally amazing to see such good punch out content even after the craze has sort of ended. I'm glad people are still making punch out content to this day with just 5 games and some spin offs existing they still manage to pull off original videos with out repetition. i still cannot get passed bald bull 1 without rewinds tho

Casually, i go agressive. I immediatly punch him, dodge, then left left right face punches repeating that gives me more stun time. I have never even gotten into 2nd round on this fight bc he just seemed kinda like a letdown. Defensive players have harder times than offensivr here. Largest stun time of entire world circuit rly. Letting you get 5-8 face punches without using that trick. Piston honda 2 was harder. He was too easy and is really just a letdown of a rematch. He just looks different and throws new punches and doesnt just sit there the entire fight doing nothing.

He keeps blocking and waiting until your cores drain out. I personally call this second fight "hard mode glass Joe". Leaving the fight on a side, I love Don Flamenco's character
