Piston Hurricane actually predates Piston Honda, Piston Honda was the MTPO copy of Piston Hurricane.

Piston Honda got his name and special move from the ORIGINAL Piston Hurricane in the ORIGINAL Punch Out game.

Piston Hurricane isn’t the ripoff, it’s Piston Honda. Hurricane was in the original 1984 Punch Out, Honda didn’t exist until the 1987 game.

Piston hurricane and aran ryan were dissed here. Piston has quick and confusing attacks and is showing that unlike gabby jay and bear hugger, he isnt a walk in the park once you learn his gimick. Piston hurricane is easy in the sense that you can beat him in less than 13 seconds. Punch his face then gut 4 times. Dodge punches and counter attack. Then spam super hooks. He goes down easily with these. Then he should be down near the 12 second mark. Use a s u per hook when he gets up and he will be KO'd. Aran ryan is h a rd in the sense that he is a TANK. And his attacks are really fast. His special always downs me. But he also only lets you hit him twice after a jab and unless he is hurt enough his hooks follow suit. If you DO manage to get a super, he will take 1/5 of your health and regen a ton of his health. On top of that he does a lightning fast uppercut afterwards. Almost as quick as nick bruiser's attacks. But super hook him a second after he recovers for the clinch and you learned his infininte. You can also jab him to stun him. He repeats this untill he is down. They both jave gimicks that makes them unique and weaker than they seem. Piston hurricane is harder than the 2 previous fighters combined, not a pushover. Aran ryan makes most newcomers lose all of their continues because of his tanky health and his punches taking around 1/20 of your health per jab. Both of them are really well made.

I do think he’s the one of the best - if not the best - fights in the game, but he’s a reskin of bear hugger and has the same taunt and stuff. That’s the only thing.

As a speed runner, the most memorable fights are the ones with the most rng. It took me more than 250 attempts to get 8"37 on Hoy Quarlow, which is annoyingly 2 frames short of the WR. Yes, Mad Clown is better, but my point is that all the characters are pretty good, even if some of them are generic.

one negative. the game crashed so much on hat fight when i was playing that i used a savestate to before the figh because the game kept crashing and i had to reset it then play the world circuit again and again

Heike Kagero, Bod Charly and Gabby jay forgettable? I don't think so. But I agree, that Mad Clown is one of my favourites simply because of how insane he is, how unique his fighting style is and how he completely disregards the rules of boxing. I love his sommersault earclap. It's easy to avoud but SO POWERFUL!!!

I agree that Piston Hurricane is the most forgettable character in the game. His special move is nothing new, and he doesn’t do anything else that stands out. However, I think every other character has something unique and special about them. You said Aran Ryan was forgettable, but he takes the least amount of damage of all the fighters from regular jabs, and the most damage from super punches. Then, every time you super punch him, he tries to hug you, which transfers health from you to him. He’s a great character that takes time to figure out. Quarlow is also probably my favorite fight in the game. He’s the fastest and requires a really quick response from you. His KO animation, when he skips across the mat, is also really funny to me.

Lmao Piston Hurricane came first bra. Every character from the Punch series is memorable for their own reason(s). I did really dig mad clowns fight though.

My personal favorite fights in SPO are Heike Kagero, Super Macho Man, and Hoy Quarlow. Heike is just funny to me, same for SMM. But Hoy Quarlow is wildly illegal, but not annoyingly illegal to me like Mad Clown, just funny illegal.

Masked muscle does this cool head butt which harms the player twice in succession.
