why not punch the holes in the top of the panel as well as the sides, would make screwing the top easier.

with the punch they probably could have made a slot for the screws just 2 slightly overlapping punches

Ok Jesse, I’ve had my doubts that your Rube Goldberg roof panel delivery rig could work or be manageable, but I’m impressed at how well it’s worked. Good job for thinking outside the box! BTW, the panels are still squarely aligned because they’re machine produced, so good manufacture. But more importantly, because you were so fastidious about making sure the first one was dead square, so good build!

Those roof panels should not be screwed down tight. You need to allow for thermal expansion and contraction.

I love that you dressed alike today. You're killin' the roof. Great job.

In North Florida we have such an extreme range of temperatures that a long continuous run of a single piece of metal will expand and contract so much that it rips the screw holes. An elongated hole/slot that would slide under a wide screw head might work better.

With the drills, the chuck is designed to grip to a certain point and then you give it another turn without the drill engaged. This securely locks the bit in place.
