I brought my 9 and 11 year old boys to see them last week and we had the times of our life. My boys could never see the original lineup. Whats touring today is what weve got and we had fun. They are keeping the music alive for future generations and doing a damned good job of it so lay off. It's all about having fun man and life is full of heartache. We had a beautiful night, a dad with his boys enjoying the music. I didn't see one person there who wasn't having a good time.

Nice to hear the old songs even with Johnnie. I know this is ten years old but im glad they kept it going. I dont have any of their new stuff, i was a huge fan of the old stuff and love to hear it with the current members. I know only Gary Rossington is left but Ricky Medlock is kind of a original as he played the drums on their first album and was a childhood friend of theirs as well. Now he is one of the guitarists.

@sammys70 Because if they talk about Ed King. they would have to admit that Ed and Ronnie wrote alot of the songs. Ed was not fired. He told Ronnie he felt that he had done all he could for him and they part as really good friends. Ronnie's words and Ed's muzic = in your face. But Ed gives credit when it was due. they dont. They dont talk about Ed , Bob , Leslie and Artimus and they are all still alive. Why are none talk about or still in the band? Because they all fall under ORIGINAL MEMBER'S

They may have to. Judy VanZant had a contract that said at least 2 original band members had to be performing to be called LS. With Billy's death, that leaves just one. I think they are probably going to finish thecurrent scheduled tour and call it quits. They have to fulfill the contract through this years' tour. After that? I haven't heard. I honestly hope they keep touring under a different name. They still rock and still pack venues.

Boring? I've seen them live in recent years. They can still blow 90% of the bands off the stage today. Gary is still a great guitarist and so is Rickey Medlocke. Hughie Thomasson was with them then, and Johhny does a good job on vocals. As for it not being as good without Ronnie, I think the songwriting has suffered, but the vocals are still good. Ronnie was planning on stepping down as lead singer anyway, probably putting Steve Gaines center stage. Either way, LS still rocks hard as ever.

didn't Ronnie van zant have another daughter besides melody?? I have seen freebird child on here, but why wasn't she apart of this behind the music?? And was the van zant family still apart of her life, and were they apart of it while she was growing up??
@play4u6710 жыл бұрын
Justmiss Jamey, you're correct about Ronnie having another daughter, her name is Tammy Van Zant, however, I'm not sure why she wasn't featured on this nor where she was at the time, I'd like to know the answer to those questions myself. It is possible though that Tammy just didn't want to be apart of this for the reason's that it may have been too painful for her or that she just didn't want to be apart of it for other personal reasons. I do however know that the Van Zant family is and always has been apart of her life, I saw her on a talk show about a year ago (maybe longer, can't remember for sure when it was) and she talked a lot about her dad and his family and she was very much engaged into the Van Zant family then (from the way she talked). Who knows (shrugging shoulders here), maybe she'll come out with an album sometime, I'd like to know if she does, I'd buy it because I loved the way she did "Freebird Child", she did an awesome job with that!! Hope this helps (: Take Care
