An approximately 1.7 mile out and back loop trail, that is fairly well marked. Upon entering the trail, you may see a sign that states,'You are now in Wolf Country'. The State of NM has been reintroducing endangered Mexican gray wolves into this part of the National Forest. Even though this trail welcomes dogs on leashes, you can decide if you want to take your dog on this trail. We hiked in May 2024, did not see any wolves in the middle of the day, but did stumble upon a very large rattlesnake! Be careful! Be Well!
