My grandmother would send us to the garden to pick this weed. It grew naturally and was easy for children to identify. She would add it to salads or cooked greens. We would also eat it directly while working in the garden. Fond memories🥰👍💯🙏💞🐲

I love purslane, I am of Turkish Cypriot heritage and I remember growing up my mother would always make the yoghurt version or mixed with chopped onion, tomatoes and cucumber adding the olive oil and lemon juice, so delicious. Purslane is so healthy as it contains high amounts of omega 3.

Finding purslane in the market when I was in Pendik for 6 weeks in '99 was so amazing. I made salad after salad with a simple dressing and toasted, chopped hazelnuts. I have also never seen so many summer mushrooms available. Everything was so delicious!

Salam sister, I am Palestinian and we usually sauté purslane with onions, olive oil, tomatoes, salt and pepper then eat with pita bread. It’s also very tasty and healthy. I also just made a salad a few days ago just like yours but I added fresh mint, fresh basil , and some dried oregano with sumac n tomatoes and cucumbers very delicious! Your recipe with yogurt is interesting, Inshallah I will give it a try.

I'll be making some later I think I'll add parmesan to that recipe 😁. Happy cooking🙏🏼

I cook this with olive oil, then i add some black bean chilli oil a teaspoon then a teaspoon of tumeric powder. cook on medium heat do not burn just keep cooking most water till the purslane is wilted and about third of the size from fresh. then add garlic cook until garlic is fragrant less than a minute. turn off heat. before serving some salt and pepper. more olive oil this time not cooked just fresh. then finish with a teaspoon of sesame oil and teaspoon of vinegar. next get some old slice of bread sourdough or vienna then put pieces spread into the mix; the oil and remaining water and the flavours will soak into the bread to be nice with the purslane lemon tangy flavour. a delicious savoury vegetable accompaniment for any type of meat or just ready to eat as is. I am amazed how this is considered a weed but compared to the 'weeds' type food you can eat this is the most versatile in cooking and the tastiest. I will be adding this with my other very easy to grow malabar spinach!

Sister I am pakistani Muslim. I love every Muslim in world. Many of turkish insulting pakistani. Pakistan is 5th largest population of world. Pakistan has huge variety of nuclear weapons and long range nuclear missile. Pakistan can destroy turkey in 1 hour from world. What is turkey???? Turkey is a country who adopt European culture to enter in European union. But turkey kicked off from European union many times. Recently, turkey launched a free trade agreement with pakistan. Why turkey need pakistan for trade??? We can destroy turkey in 1 hour with nuclear missile. Turkey is a slave of European union and Israel. All countries like China, India, Israel, European union and America are afraid off from pakistan. Not coward turkey. Why arrogant turkish people insulting my country?????
